I thought that the Golden State Warriors could be the dark horse in this season as they really started hot with Buddy Hield. But obviously, it was just a burst in the beginning and now they are no longer in the top and keep on struggling every game.

We'll see, although I honestly doubt it. The Warriors have played almost half of the regular season and are still at the bottom of the standings. I mean, they aren't performing convincingly, and their current results aren't even good enough to qualify for the play-in tournament.
I'm still inclined to think that Klay's leaving has affected them. Even though Curry is still doing well, he can't win the championship alone.

Hield had a bad game. It isn’t the end of the world. The Warriors have just gotten old. Draymond hasn’t been playing at a championship level for 3+ years now either. It wasn’t just Klay. I think the Warriors need to let Steph score 50+ a night and stop trying to play basketball like they can still win championships. They can’t.

Talking about the Rockets, they’ll be facing the number 3 team tomorrow - Memphis. It’s definitely going to be a great matchup. Memphis is back to being healthy, and after their win against Minnesota, let’s see if they can carry that momentum.

BTW, I bet on Memphis. In case you want to ride, check out my post!
That 16-2 run on the 4th quarter by the Rockets gave them the comeback win against the Grizzlies. They won by 2 points 120-118.
Morant also missed the 2 crucial free throws in the final seconds of the game. It could be a one-possession game if sinks those 2 free throws, but he wasn't.

I didn't saw your bet though unfortunately, but I already put my bet on the Rockets since the 2nd quarter of the game with around 2.7 odds. Jalen Green tied his career high with 42 points while Morant and Bane combined for 54 points. Good win for the home team.
That was the key thing that made them lose the game, if Morant hit both, or at least hit the first and missed the second, they may had a chance, but with him missing both, there was no chance. I think after missing the first, the second one was intentional miss so they could grab it back, but at that point I think they were too late, even if they made the first, and missed second and grabbed the offensive rebound, it was already a too late situation, would have been very hard, but at least it was doable, after missing the first, it was all over.

This is why I also think Memphis isn't ready to win the title yet, Morant isn't a superstar, someone very athletic and quick can always be a great player, but without a proper shooting, you are not going to be a superstar in the league. When you miss free throws like that, you are not going to get your team a ring. If Morant wants to be a superstar, this summer he needs to hire the best shooting experts and do those famous "I shot 100 thousand threes this summer" type of summers.

Yeah, and it's hard to see Hied as a replacement for Klay Thompson if that what the fans of the Warriors thought so. Now, they are struggling in every game and if they won, Curry has to step up and score a lot.

And I do agree that they are getting older now, although there are news that they are very much interested on the services of Butler, but it will take a lot of their core to be able to get him. So still very risky for them as Butler is also not getting old. So I do not see them winning another ring as Curry could have just another 3 years in him to play and still be mad scoring.

But I guess there's a big expectations from Buddy Hield when he joined the Warrior, and in the beginning, it seems that he filled Klay Thompson's role with the Warriors. But he was not that consistent, and I don't know what happen to him as he had some kind of records at the start.

It could be mental thing for him? Or just the Warriors are getting old? They still have a lot of role players just like when they have those incredible runs as a champion. But it seems that Kerr and his system are no longer working for them and yeah, Curry and Draymond are in the mid 30's already and so their game might be regressing, specially Draymond.

Yeah, hard to see how the Warriors will go to the playoff this year, it seems that it was as a bad combination with having Hield and Dennis as they are performing way below expectations. Although we should put everything on Steve Kerr as he is the one guiding the team.

Draymond is still a play maker, but it's not the same during his prime. Kuminga and Wiggins are also on/off, there are games that they are playing high level and then the next, even playing at Chase Center, they will have a bad shooting night. Time for them to have a overhaul for next year, and most likely everyone should go except Steph Curry. They need to rebuild, in my opinion if they wanted to win another ring before Steph retires.

He's stats is promising on their first 5 game early this season that's why many people think about that he's a big deal in the roster and people feel like Warriors made a good decision to get him then let go of Klay in their roster. But unfortunately now he's inconsistent and performance is declining.  See his stats here https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/buddy-hield-stats-when-starting

Maybe he's just pressured on the expectation he got from fans that's why he's afraid to commit a mistake because he will be highlighted on news with these situation. But hopefully next year Hield and Warriors could sort out the issue and they could able to start strong then could able to maintain their momentum. Their system is overused and many teams already know how to counter it so maybe they should think about other thing since adjustment is important to win their games.

I also see the pressure on his side and the warriors themselves after letting go of Klay. But if he believes in himself, he could take it and surpass the expectations of the fans.

We're expecting a change in their momentum. I believe the team can make some recovery. They did this before, and there's no reason they can't adjust. But for Hield, he should adapt to the situation he has now and never think about the pressure. If he wants to grow, then he must show his real talent.

As a Warrior fan, I also thought that they will be the dark horse of the West because of how they played at the start of the season. Well, they played well until they're on a losing streak that caused them being at the top 3 to now out of the play-in spot currently.

I don't want to pin-point players, but I guess I need to because his impact with the team ever since he joined is big, and when he played awfully, the team went down with it. Steph's performance is already given, and still giving huge numbers, but Buddy Hield is for me, one of the big reasons why they're out of the playoff contention right now. In his last 10 games, he scored only 8 points, shooting 31% from the field and 25% from 3-pt area. Hield had even been called as "the new Splash Brother", and halfway through the season, he crumbles down. I mean what's going on with him, and his performance.

Overall, I doubt that the Warriors will be a playoff contender right now. Heck even the all-star loaded Suns are now at the 11th spot which is hilarious if you will think.

With his shooting capabilities, yeah his fit with Warriors system but if he can't adjsut with what the opponents will do to him that's going to be a big problem to them, they are lacking with heights and if they missed a lot of outside shots it turns against them defensive rebounds can convert to easy fastbreak points.

Yeah, that also adds up, the pressure with how fans will react if he missed a lot knowing that he replace one of the top caliber player who play for the team, that's something that him and the warriors managment needs to work out, let see if how they'll going to adjust to improve their winning chances.

That's him, which is why the Indiana Pacers gave him up. Inconsistent. He is a great shooter, I will not doubt that but it's on and off. He will show a good performance on a good night but never on a bad night, unlike players like Steph, Durant, James, and more. They can be off at night but they can still find ways to contribute to the team. If they have a bad shooting night, then they will attack the paint or they can be a playmaker.
Hield doesn't have those kinds of skills. He is a shooter and that's it. The thing is, it can be predictable and defenders will easily know your moves especially if you are known to be unable to attack the paint. His 3-point shooting dropped to 37 percent from 42+ in his days as a Pacer.
The Warriors must do something to maximize his usage again or just put him in the 2nd team if he won't be helpful. He is still playing 30+ minutes even with bad stats.

A ton of interesting trades being talked about recently. I think the Miami Heat, New Orleans Pelicans, Los Angeles Lakers, & Phoenix Suns are all set to possibly make some big splashes in the next month. I’m hearing the Pelicans might dump everyone but Zion, the Suns might dump Beal, the Heat have to trade Jimmy, and Los Angeles is desperate for anything.

He is 35 years old.  Dont base it on people like lebron aging.
Lebron is a freak most times after 33/34 years old it goes downhill quick.  As a big guard 35 years old he cant manuever like he used to.  I feel the same way about jimmy.  Everyone is talking butler moving but he is gonna decline quick too.  Old players usually never help teams win at a high level.  Harden would be good on a team who only needs him for 25 minutes or so.

Its expected to see a decline on that age but still its good that he has a decent stats and still be called as high caliber player.

Lebron is indeed a freak and its extraordinary situation that we don't see a decline on him despite of his age. I guess we can see more for him especially that he's chasing for more records to break.

Both Harden and Butler decline and I guess its better for Butler to follow what Harden do to settle up with his team and stop acting like a crap since if he keep doing these troubles maybe he might struggle to find better team next time.

Also Clippers is doing good let see if they could able to stretch up their standing and possibly compete on finals with current roster they have.

Also Clippers is doing good let see if they could able to stretch up their standing and possibly compete on finals with current roster they have.

One thing James Harden has going for him as he ages is that he’s more of a shooter than an athletic guard. So he might be able to hang around and provide value longer than someone like Westbrook who has his game based on explosive speed. Maybe Harden will have a hard time getting off step backs as he ages, but for now he still looks decent.

As far as I know, the Heat are still far from finalizing a deal to trade Butler to any team. Apparently, other teams' offers aren't satisfying them yet. By the way, there were rumors that the Heat management might change Butler's suspension status to “refusal to provide services”, which means a double fine for him.

Karl Anthony Towns is in Philadelphia tonight as the New York Knicks take on the 76ers. A funny thing happened as Bleacher Report posted this picture showing that KAT changed out of his Philadelphia Eagles gear at halftime. I wonder who it was that gave him a hard time for sporting a Philly sports team against the 76ers.

I was watching the game between the Clippers and Nets, and for a moment, I thought the score was broken,  Grin

Final score was 126-67, a 59-point victory by the Clippers...  It got me curious, and I thought they might have set a record for the biggest loss in NBA history. But turns out, there’s an even bigger one, it's the Thunder holds that record from a game back in 2021.

Thunder Suffer 73-point Loss, Largest in NBA History
Quote
The Oklahoma City Thunder were on the wrong side of history Thursday night.

Fielding a starting backcourt tandem in Ty Jerome and Tre Mann in the absences of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey, the Oklahoma City Thunder were hounded by the Memphis Grizzlies 152-79 on Thursday.

Yeah, it seems that Pat Riley is not giving up Jimmy Butler for now, maybe he was really looking for a good deal or just wanted to put Butler in a lose lose situation. In any case, I think Miami could do nothing but to really let go of Jimmy otherwise it will have a effect on the teams.

Knicks and the Sixers did go to OT, but in the end, Sixers has no legs and the Knicks win by 6 points.

Still no Joel Embiid for the Sixers, and it was all Maxey and Paul George for them. And obviously, it's not enough to upset the Knicks.
