Hmm, no; those rules still exist - FrueGreads made no mention of them in his last post because he was just informing everyone of the changes since the last competition. So, participants will still need to have 100 valid bets by the end of the competition to qualify, and there will still be a minimum and maximum bet stake (if you go over to the Registration or Main Threads, you can see those rules still there: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1248467.msg12963505#msg12963505).

Hello guys, sorry for the delay in opening the registration thread.
You only missed a few hours, so everything should be fine.

As for the rules, is exactly what u9y42 told. I only posted the major updates for this edition.
Please check the main rules in our usual posts. As you can see after you do that, the 5% rule and the 100 bets requirement are still there.
Actually everything stays the same from the last competition, expect for those announced changes.

Summary of Updates  for the X Tipster Championship

Hello everyone, the registration for the X Tipster Championship opens in a few hours, so here is the summary of recent updates.

Bankroll update:
Altcoin price adjustment: 100mBTC (or 300K DOGE +, 20 LTC +, 7 DASH +, 7 Ether +)

Main competition update:
X3 Prizes: Users playing with a bankroll of 1 BTC or more will have their Top7 prizes tripled
(so 3 BTC for first place, 1.5 BTC for second place, and so on)

Contribution Prize: (currently replacing the participation prize, that has been removed)
- All qualified participants will receive 100 mBTC Casino House Credit
- 3,000 loyalty points need to be earned before it can be withdrawn
- 10,000 loyalty points for members with activity of 70 or lower
- members will have to actively post their bets in the main thread
- members will have to promote the competition in their Sig OR Avatar during the competition outside of games and rounds
- if you can't use your sig or avatar, you can alternatively put the following text as your personal message:
Tipsters Championship www.DirectBet.eu/Competition

Note: you can still register for competition without using sig/avatar or personal message.
You only need to do that, if you want to apply for the new contribution prize.
You can still register and pay for Top7 prizes without meeting the above requirements

Side Competition Updates:
New structure: League + Playoffs, instead of the previous group phase that had a problem with inactive groups
- We will create a League instead of 6 groups.
- We will then award points every day as we did on the previous format (but now we only have a big group, instead of 6).
- After the first week we will advance the top 16 ranked players to the the knockout phase

New prizes: (for the side competition)
- 30 mBTC Casino House Credit (for those that reach the 1/8 Finals)
- 1st 500 mBTC
- 2nd 300 mBTC
- 3rd 100 mBTC (to be determined by a matchup between the players who lost in the semi-finals)

Sure. We will be using the same conversion rates as for the minimum bankroll:

I'm sorry, Opung, but I don't think I understood the question(s).

If you are asking if there is any prize for those reaching the 1/8 Finals in the Side Competition, then yes, it's as Kanapka posted: everyone reaching that phase receives 30 mBTC in house credit.

Provided the entries have a starting bankroll of 1 BTC or more (or the equivalent in altcoins), they are automatically eligible to receive x3 top place prizes; so, no need to worry about that.

What we need participants to state is whether they want to receive the Contribution Prize, which now replaces the old Participation Prize (in part because this will require users to set a signature / avatar / personal message promoting the competition, during the event, as well as actively posting their bets in the Main Thread).
