Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Yeah, the main reason why PIVX has so large market cap, people buy huge amount of coins to build masternodes, and they make money from rise.

When i chose an external hoster for a PIVX masternode, are there any security risks?

I have to give him a rpc user and password, and the keys for my address, where the 10.000 pivx are stored.

So is there any risk? i had difficulites setting up my own masternode, so i am thinking about choseing an external masternode hoster ....

I'm also concerened about this, that why I have setup my own masternode. If you follow the manual it's quite easy.

can someone else misuse the output of "masternode genkey"  and "masternode outputs" Huh? is it risky to give that info to 3rd party?

hmm yes and i would not give out my private key! you better setup the nodes by yourself and/or use a hoster like mp-hosting
please also check this guide:

Just read from another forum that if your masternode private key is stolen that your PIVX is still safe. The only thing that they can do is to use this as a vote on the masternode network. So in all that's not a big deal  Cheesy

I'm sure that i'm not going to give you the answer that you are looking for... but just think about this:
If an old and obsolete/almost feature-less coin like litecoin is now worth 10 bucks, what you should expect from PIVX?

lets make this coin at least 50 usd per coin, so we can all become millionaire  Cheesy

btw : as side note, if this coin indeed reach such valuation will it reduce the MN requirement to 1000 pivx?

It will do what the community decides as it always has, imo.

The emphasis on decentralized governance is one of the core competencies/reasons for PIVX's current success to date.

$50 is incredibly ambitious... I like it  Wink

Not sure $50 is achievable any time soon Cheesy Maybe $8 is more realistic given the current climate and coin supply.

How are the guys (and gals) feeling about zerocoin progress?

i guess ZP needs some time and better do it right  than rush out.
i'm hoping on summer/fall but you never know in case of development

tbh. i think ZP is far more important than polo and i really don't care about polo too much
all we will get from polo add. is a temp bump nothing more.

on the other hand it is allways good to be on all major xchanges ...
but price should raise cuz of development, marketing and stuff, thats the way to go or at least how i like it.

cheers

I firmly agree.  Even more... with PIVX's success, Polo is inevitable, so who cares.

Will be a nice price bump, sure, but I'm more focused on implementing new developments and establishing superior fundamentals.

That being said, would be willing to ho myself out if Coinbase picked it up  Cheesy

Is it more profitable to be a staker or a masternode holder?

or forks from the multiple wallet updates we had awhile back, I lost enough for 3 masternodes on that deal. So make back ups of your back ups on an external HD, just in case because losing most of your stash sucks.

Did you try the wallet.dat file on a clean chain download and in the config file

reservebalance=999999

Also all references to masternode off.

Then resync by starting the daemon.

yep tried everything i can think of and some things the devs suggested. really nothing to do about it, they got lost on one of the forks when we had all of those wallet updates like 6 months ago, one of them was corrupting wallet.dat files, i had backups but trying to re-set up MN's and trying to move some to an exchange just so i knew some were safe ended with my coins i mined at launch in fork never never land. This is still the best coin going in my opinion, just trying to make sure people are aware you can lose everything even if you do everything right. still sucks though lol but whatever it's crypto
