I definetly pay my taxes.

No more no less.

Depending on where you're living you still have a lot of way to optimise (not avoid) your taxes and be perfectly clean.

It's only fair...

Every law abiding citizen needs to pay his/her tax as it is a necessity for nation development and i think we should not play with the law to find ourselves wanting at the end.

If I do what you say, then I sell all the crypto I have and pay the govt thousands more in cash out of pocket just for the privilege of holding crypto last year.

I'm still up 3x my initial investment, yet I'm in the hole because the govt tells me I must give them my entire bag and then some just for unrealized gains...

Are you going to pay taxes on your Bitcoin profits?

Suppose you make a million dollars. Suppose you have already made a million dollars. Are you going to hand half of that cash over to the government? Of course, this is assuming you convert your coins into federally recognized cash. If your only intention is to amass a huge supply of Bitcoins, the question does not apply to you.

You're supposed to pay income taxes. It seems rather easy to get away with not doing it, though... at least in this case.

Yes if it would give us benefits or help our country  then so be it. In the future our descendant would benefit our hard work.

This is precisely why I don't pay tax. Because I'm against any nation's development. Life would be better if there were no nation. There'd be no citizens, no borders and no more wars.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

Your logic is fine with you and me. But this will land you in trouble with the authorities. If you are not ready to pay the taxes, then the authorities are going to come after you and if you are still adamant about the tax payment then you will end up behind the bars.

paying taxes is a must to all the people. it is our obligations and responsibilities that we should settle. it is a part of the community because it is one source of fund of the government. so if you pay your taxes properly, you are a good citizen.

As long as we drive on the roads that the government built, the water that the government transports to your house and the security they provide in the form of laws and police I definitely think one should pay taxes. If we don’t want to pay taxes one should buy their own island build their own infrastructure like roads, water supply, electricity and security then fuck the government collecting taxes..... you are the government

as long as you honestly believe that you don't have to pay taxes and it's not based on some constitutional theory such as that the amendment allowing the government to collect taxes was not properly ratified then it is ok in court so if you honestly don't think you have to pay taxes on cryptocurrencies then you can argue that in court

here are people on a World of Warcraft forum having a serious discussion about paying taxes on WoW gold
https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20742965783

here are some people talking about V Bucks and tax
https://www.reddit.com/r/FortNiteBR/comments/7lzaqv/do_vbucks_have_tax/

here is an article that states a report from congress says you might owe taxes on WoW gold
https://www.engadget.com/2013/06/19/congressional-report-says-you-may-owe-taxes-on-your-wow-income/

here is a guy that sued a company for "making WoW less fun" by selling services from 3rd world countries

you don't have to pay taxes as long as you are under the impression that you didn't have to pay taxes and bitcoin is not money according to the court so altcoins definitely aren't money and tokens definitely definitely are not money

I think the question needs to be a bit more specific. It always depends on the country you're in. And the tax laws that surround capital gains surely. We know that some countries like the US and UK derive joy in taxing the existence out of their citizens. But if you are lucky enough to come from a less inconvenient system, good for you. However, it is always necessary that we abide by the laws. Because in the end, any funds unaccounted for will be discovered. And this will only create bad reputation for Bitcoin investors.

I have no issue with paying taxes when it goes to help the homeless and those that are in poverty.  I wish the government didn't spend so much on war and other ridiculous things though.  All it takes is a few bad events and any of us could land on the streets,  it's why I always treat others the way I would want to be treated.

I am already paying my taxes monthly and I will continue paying faithfully. Paying of taxes by citizens is the best thing and cannot be overemphasized. Our country’s tax payer’s money is meant for the infrastructural development of our nation though people in power misappropriate the tax money. If we carefully remove our taxes from government internally generated revenue that is when we will understand that payment of tax is vital. Without tax money it will be very difficult for government to carry out tangible project. Some rich people evade tax and I don’t understand where they want government to get money to execute all the projects in her yearly budget.
