Of my old GPU farm I have one 7950 left, and it likes to commit seppuku when mining DCR, so I'll have to work with what I received from the airdrop. Think the main chip in it is getting ready for retirement.

Seppuku? Explain.
I'm in the process of getting a couple 7950's up and running again, just waiting on risers.
Hopefully, I'm not wasting my time.

Seppuku https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seppuku

I was only joking about that. The whole computer freezes. It has nothing to do with it being a 7950, it's just a very old card that has done several life cycles of work for me already. This same card was mining litecoin and bitcoin back in 2013  Smiley

I highly doubt you'll have any issues with yours, assuming they are in good shape.

Great, but now the main thing for mainstream Decred use is: Gui wallet and selling/paying/recieving payments. This is the biggest part in what a coin needs to have. I am a rather simple user, seeking for a coin where you can Pay for a product FAST and SAFE. As you can see this is where BTC kind of failed (long transaction times or risk double spending etc.)

also buy some vanilla coin. It has zero time transactions (no other has this feature) without bugs or risk of double spend. Soon will have a decentralized anon system much better and faster than dash. Some day you'll thank me for the tip

I can confirm that. They shutted down bct thread and moved to official forum, what I suggest for Decred as well. It'll solve the problems with the same questions all the time.
Users from DCR forum helped me to get and transfer coins from airdrop.

No Bitcointalk - No Publicity ...
Yeah, i can agree with you on this one, unfortunatelly more and more trolls and fudders are borning here day from day

Yeah but it's pretty annoying. Imagine that Average Joe comes over here, takes a look in decred topic and it's full with pointless and unnecessary fud. Cheesy that's why i'm not against moderated topics

Regardless of their meaningless argument that this coin will fall back to 0.0015 btc it continues to grow bigger and stronger.

There will be up and down movement but that has nothing to do with whether decred will be successful or not. It all depends on tech, real world use cases & community. Price is just a reflection of that & of whale's mood.

This coin is trying to test/experiment with new framework for how coin's development takes place. They want to give coin holders a chance to have a say in every decision. PoS for this coin is geared to wards allowing vote on all issue in future. Also its underlying tech is more secure. This coin provides funding to devs by giving 10% of each block reward to them, so that devs dont have to seek funding from private VC with an agenda. I hope other will list more features.

Testnet stake pool is live! Come jump in the stake pool and help test. The hope is to iron out the rest of the code, open-source it, and transfer stake pooling to anyone serious about running their own stake pool. Announcement is here! You can sign up for the pool here: https://teststakepool.decred.org.

Remember, this is for testnet so we can all test it together and make sure it's all working nicely before we transition it to mainnet. This is for PoS mining in a way that does not require you to solo mine.

You are absolutely correct and by this it means that price depends on many other factors apart from mere word of forecast.

Not the best "warm" words there..

And most of them half truths without mentioning that the coin is still under active development, and without mentioning any key features this blog clearly won't be the one that will be good to read to get additional information Grin

Really worse german grammar.
Only one thing is interesting, one thing: 2163 untouched airdrops.

The reason, mentioned in the blog, is ridiculous. The webwallet isn't complicated. I guess there is a problem with reading and the seed...

Yes and compared to the so called "blogger" i pretty much like that number it means that almost 30% of the airdroppers probably already dumped  their coins altough can not be prooved if it was just transfered or sold too, as already stated in the thread there are around 10% of people who lost the seed. So in this case we are around 40% coins out from airdrop holders and remains around 20-30% max to be dumped in the future as there is another ~30% who will hold tight and keep the coins for long term as for any free distribution

Compare to ethereum from the begining I would say wallets are the same. And as I good remember there wasn't windows wallet in ethereum from the begining you had to compile windows wallet yourself. You had to use linux system. For sure Decred had better guides.
So to sum up decred start was much less complicated. (strange that article author  cliam opposite )
