Hello, This coin has a huge community! Does anyone know what the profitability (in coins) of a 280X GPU gives in coins? How about a 290? I am contemplating on whether to mine Decred or just buy some. Currently I am mining ethereum with 4x280X and one 290 earning 2.26 (22,22,22,22,24MHs rounded up) ethereum per day and watching the price go down. Maybe I will switch that rig to Decred. I look forward in follong this community.
Thanks.
I switch some of my farms from ETH. Mining Decred +/- same profit

Can anyone tell me the number of coins currently in circulation? I can't for the life of me find it anywhere
Available supply is now visible on the status page of the block explorer. It updates on every block. You can also pull a feed from: https://mainnet.decred.org/api/status?q=getCoinSupplyNote: This shows available supply in atoms, to see the available supply in decred, divide by 1e8. Thus, 174987865164800÷100000000 = 1749878.651648 DCR.

No developer or project member will trade any of their bring-up DCR for 12 months and c0 will not trade any of its bring-up DCR for 24 months. These funds are therefore ineligible for trading during that time. Source: The Project's CommitmentI like the dev teams commitment to this project. So many scams out there, this is a nice solid coin with honest devs.

I duly hope they're honorable, for I look forward to incorporating Decred somewhat in a project I'm working on that's soon to be released, with further hopes of working with the team in general (since they work for free ). Regardless, I'll be accepting DCR as long as it's viable. This post is an endorsement of sorts and NOT meant as satire. Peace.

Source: The Project's Commitmentsaid EVERY account ever made just for launching a coin ;\ I believe them and will act accordingly, took that risk already in the past few days anyway - plus my airdrop. If DCR has the feature implemented, CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY would seal the deal, practically unfuddable from that angle. I'll say it again though, everything points to them being honorable people and already added to my airdrop in days prior to their announcement today.

Sorry, I can't, forgive me a computer idiot this code: package main import ( "github.com/decred/dcrwallet/pgpwordlist" "encoding/hex" "fmt" "bufio" "os" "strings" ) func main() { reader := bufio.NewReader(os.Stdin) fmt.Print("Enter hex: ") hexStr, err := reader.ReadString('\n') if err != nil { panic(err) }
hexStrTrimmed := strings.TrimSpace(hexStr)
bytes, err := hex.DecodeString(hexStrTrimmed) // "e92cfab0018f6519f885c13939687de14c2b8f6e3e5a55dfa6e3861ba9a105d5" if err != nil { panic(err) } words, err := pgpwordlist.ToStringChecksum(bytes) if err != nil { panic(err) } fmt.Printf("words: %s\n", words) }

How long will it take before Decred annual inflation is <10%?
Nearly everything about it, makes it an improvement over and viable alternative to Bitcoin.
However if Decred has high inflation it will be unable to sustain a high valuation without much more new demand than BTC requires and therefore could not realistically compete in the short to medium term.

But anonymous F _ingsoc will USE the 840,000 decred she wont sell to stake "at least half" of all PoS rewards, actually much more, thats at least 450,000 "free" decred this year, and the year after, when the PoS returns are highest. In 2 years, anonymous F _ingsoc will have MORE PoS than the origional 840,000 anyway. For "free". selling as she goes. Then they can dump the 840,000. anonymous F _ingsoc doesn't point out that part. Is that in the constitution? no one, except me, even notices? Now that's amazing.
