Lots of great news went out for this coin.
Can u elaborate on this? I don't see any positive news except ur previous statement about press coverage. There were no news except the roadmap. Everything else was just a hype and now we can see consequences.  C'mon fudder ... You know very well that the price drop is happening on all altcoins. Probably whales will pump btc again. There are no news? What do you think about these? - Lightning Network support  - Privacy project with a new and unique anon system - Global Marketing Campaign - Smart contracts - DAO - GUI wallets for mac and linux and in 07/02 will be implemented the purchase of tickets in them Great summary. I can see that most of you here are very optimistic about Decred. Can you tell me how the team behind the project intend to bring it to the mainstream in order to achieve mass adoption? It would be very nice to see a solid plan for it because I noticed that it has been years since that happened. Only bitcoin has achieved a critical mass of users to make a sustainable economy.

Wait..... Bitcoin is mass adopted? BTC definitely has enough adoption to at least qualify as a subculture. yeah a subculture status does not mean the masses are using it or even know about it - price would be where we all want it to be to retire and buy a yacht etc.... ask random people outside your circle if they've even heard of bitcoin, not many will know about it - a few will say "yeah I've heard of it" now ask those selected few if they own any bitcoin and your percentage of users from the "masses" will decrease dramatically. Bitcoin is leading the way in that regard of course and for obvious reasons but it stills has a long way to go to be considered "mass adopted" Mass adoption "plans" in a roadmap is the stuff for the thousands of scam coins around, used to fill empty space in an OP ... Word of mouth, is what seems to have ,and is, doing the job for bitcoin. Legit crypto projects take the roles of filling niches within the crypto ecosystem and DCR is doing its thing... to think of mass adoption within a few years is ridiculous, even for BTC. |

I have to agree with proletariat. Even bitcoin is completely unknown to most people outside of the crypto-bubble, let alone other alt-coins. It's still an early adopter phase. It's a thing for afficionados, for now. So any coin talking of "mass adoption" is bullshitting themselves right now... However - there is a possibility, theoretically, that an altcoin would go mainstream before Bitcoin does - if there's a very practical use or "killer app" for it. It's too early to say. Happy 100000th block btw! |

I woul really like to see that! There are some chances but is it not too optimistic ? ;-) I would like to see a stable price / exchange rate. Like it was before in the Summer 2016 ~ 1.5$ per DCR. With PoS it's like your second salary every month, no need to pump or dump, when the market is healthy and the price is stable the Proof-of-Stake mining in Decred is a Klondike. |

I think bitcoin is at verge of early majority trying to get in, and thus all the drama in bitcoin space.
Decred last year launched with innovators & lucky early birds getting in, now it is trying to transition to early adopters with bare bone infrastructure and good working beta s/w in place with next 2 releases. We are yet at least 2-5 years from early majority i think.
