V0.6.1 is an emergency fix for a hard forking issue. Everyone on v0.6.0 MUST upgrade ASAP.

Is this an emergency only for those who are using 0.6.0 ?

It is not similar to staking via stakepool where you have complete control of your funds.

It's absolutely similar to staking via stakepool, because I register every Evolution user in the stake pool automatically (import pubkeyaddress, script etc). So yep, I never announced this, because I don't want to confuse users and I'm trying to simplify their life as much as possible, but every Evolution user has his own already configured account in the stake pool and I can give you full access to it (login is your email and very long random password I generate for each user; write me to info@dcrstats.com if for some reason you want to login also to your stake pool account).

So, Evolution is Stakepool on steroids Wink You have 100% features and control like in the any stake pool + full automatization of the process, cool web interface, mobile app, stats and more coming soon.

The only difference is that to allow this automatization (what is one of the main goals of the project) the platform should control private keys to sign new ticket purchase transactions. But that is how any crypto exchange work, I'm not very happy with this approach as well, but that is what we have for now in crypto world. If the project will be popular enough, later I will start thinking about even more secure solution, something like 2 of 3 multisigs, so eg: you can sign purchase transactions from your mobile device, which should be online 24/7. But at this stage Decred software is not yet ready for such complex solutions.

So you are disclosing this after i questioned it for second time? also you are in de facto control of their coins until they ask for it. Apart from that this will still be a major threat to stability of the network with centralization of pos staking. your pool will become a honey pot of tickets for attackers through which they can orphan significant amount of blocks and disrupt the blockchain. If you really want to help please help devs improve Paymetheus for staking via a RFP.

It seems disingenuous to me that you are selling this as a project to improve decred while seriously putting it at risk of centralization. There are better ways to improve things w/o consolidating control over people's money and the network. You have been helpful in the past but this project just does not seem to be good for decred.

sambiohazard, all stake pools have the same code base, and to stop your fear, uncertainty and doubts I'm constantly update Dcrstats Stakepool to newest versions and add new security features to protect your accounts (2FA coming very soon, it's been successfuly tested in Evolution already).

So, first of all, if attackers will find a vulnerability in the stakepool or decred software, they won't attack only one biggest pool, but all of them. And you know it doesn't matter then 1 pool with 25% or 5 pools with 5%. Actually, yes, it matters, because I don't know how serious are all 9 pool operators, but our reaction and hot-fixing will be super fast.

Even if hackers can take control under all 10 existing stakepools (c0 + 9 from rfp), what can they do in the short terms? Do not include transactions in next 10 blocks? To destroy next 10 blocks? Even if they will take control of all stake pools, it cannot be a 1-minute attack. Hackers will have to maintain all the infrastructure and pay for the hosting of more than 40 servers, which are not cheap Grin

PS: so far you are the only person who don't like something and who is going to attack the network.

Just to clarify, DCR reached it's lowest level almost a month ago, on October 29th (.00062). Although, the dump on 10/29 left a long tail on the chart which tells me that's probably where this is going once again Undecided

Guys, let's talk about EFT tokens (which all Evolution beta testers will receive for free based on % of their deposit compared to total fund size).

I don't want to use Ethereum network anymore, because it's too unstable. I think that BitShares may be a great alternative.

However, I want to talk with you about dividends. I think that, obviously, neither Bittrex nor Poloniex won't take care to pay you share from the tokens you have deposited to their exchanges.

So, I think that the best workflow is:
- monthly dividends will be shared between those token holders, who keep them (EFT tokens) in the platform (in this case we can pay them in DCR what is super cool).
- any token holder can withdraw his tokens to the exchange, by doing this he will lose his further monthly dividends, however, he can sell his tokens and the new owner can withdraw them back from Exchange to his Evolution Account and start receive the profit.

By doing this, we will pay first dividends to all beta testers (investors) already on 1 December 2016  Shocked  Shocked  Shocked
Because all tokens will be distributed in the platform (no smart contract yet and, of course, we don't want to go to exchanges yet), so you can receive your DCR to your private address.

Sounds good? Smiley

PS: also I think that such realization is a better option for our US-based friends (and exchanges), because in this case EFT is the same asset as many others and can be traded everywhere. While the dividends is not part of the token itself, but a feature of Evolution Platform.

Love it!

I just created an evolution account and made a deposit...do I have to purchase tickets manually or am I already invested? For some reason I can't click on the manual purchase...maybe it's because I'm on my iPad and can't click on it or maybe it's because I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. Cheers m8

Manual purchases are not yet enabled. The platform will automatically purchase new tickets for you with the best price and ticketfee.

I definitely agree with sambiohazard in this respect, and I'm pretty sure others do as well. I've voiced my concern for a healthier network distribution before, and this initiative, to me, is a step in the wrong direction. Nonetheless, you're providing a staking alternative for the less technical users, so kudos for that.

Folks, please consider joining any of the smaller PoS pools. Thanks!  Wink

Thanks for the support myagui. He probably didnt read my post. Dyrk when someone wants to disrupt the network, they would do it with least resource requirement. If you provide them with one pool with lots of tickets, they will attack it instead of 5 pools with 5% tickets as costs to attack will be significantly less. Dont tell me that you dont understand how distributing the tickets over pools is better while you claim to run a pool that is safe.

I wasn't talking about user account security with hackers rather about DDoS attack on your pool. On front of user fund/account security it is more about trust with you which i am slowly loosing as you go against what is good for the project and network.

I hope that it works out for everyone but path you are taking is certainly not the best for a decentralized currency. Your project introduces trust and centralization back into the system. I hope devs will intervene or introduce correct incentives at protocol level to ensure decentralization of PoS tickets.

Beta Testing has been successfully finished.

The platform is now live and open for all PoS miners: https://evolution.dcrstats.com/
Thanks to everyone who supported the project and helped with testing.

All beta participants (investors) can now see EFT tokens in their balances.

Some numbers:
- total investments during BETA: 90,648.76 DCR
- 66 investors
- total EFT supply is 1000 EFT
- 1 EFT = 90.64 DCR

First dividends will be paid to your Deposit addresses already on 1st December 2016. You will also find a list of transactions in your profile Smiley
Withdrawals of DCR will be enabled in next 24 hours (1st December). Withdrawals of EFT will be enabled after the launch of smart contract. (remember, that it is a platform, who pays you dividends, so there is no sense to keep your tokens outside of the Evolution unless you want to sell your tokens at the Exchange).

Congratulations to all investors Wink Thanks again for the help with testing!
