Decred is an excellent project. It is self-sufficient and centralization of virtual autonomous organizations. People get rewards for participating in the construction of this organization.

Decred is a bunch of old-school Bitcoin developers attempting to create a cryptocurrency that is decentralized, transparent and functional https://t.co/jxXWPQEboV

Looks like bittrex is doing the maintenance of Decred's wallet.
It will not be long, some hours ahead.

Great project folks! Just one comment Smiley

For the love of God, please do not make me type in my seed manually when upgrading wallets and importing data.

Wasting consciousness and eye strain on that when pasting it is fine (really, it is) is not a good user experience.

Upgrading wallet version does not demand a reseed.

Upgrading wallet version does not demand a reseed.

Well it just did, so...

Import wallet -> "type in your seed" and "confirm your password", then it starts syncing.

Decred is a project that will soon appear at its best. The coin is very undervalued. Soon we will see new results.

AMA: Friendly reminder that Jake-Yocom Piatt, Project Lead of Decred, will begin answering questions about the 2018 Decred Roadmap soon (on Reddit)! Link to the thread:

 https://www.reddit.com/r/decred/comments/83x9rj/2018_roadmap_ama_with_decred_project_lead_jake/
So many news and events this year, looking at the road map, we should see a strong increase, is not it? I see the enormous potential of Decred.

I think the price will really surprise. A coin created by the community and enjoying the support of the community. Very serious development plans and great success in case of full implementation. I believe in success, but with a cold head!

Hey all I need some clarification on the staking system. I was under the impression that if your ticket doesn't stake after 4 months, you get the funds back. I put in for a ticket on Nov 20, but nothing has happened as of yet. How much more longer until it either stakes or funds are released?  Again, I thought the timeline was 4 months but now I think I got that part twisted Huh

Atm ASIC's are taking over the mining. For me I make HUGE profit and can only sell at this very high miner reward. It makes no sense to hold decred these days.

You have some really bad luck here mate sorry to hear that. Chances that you ticket isnt picked in 4 months is very small but it will happen very occasionally. If you have only 1 ticket its even more frustrating I can imagine. I believe if your ticket isnt picked after 6 months you get your funds back. In practice, this will almost never happen but you can get unlucky like in your case. Hope your ticket is picked very soon, I dont think anything can be done in the meantime but maybe someone who knows more about it can add some info.

sorry thought by head 6 months but appears to be shorter than that, as mentioned below my post

Are you our new trol ? You don't have a asic mining dcr. You obviously dont like that dcr is getting asics and when you didnt get your way you decided to bash the project. If you had an asic you won't be talking dcr down since you still have to mine in the future with the most potential profit.

I understand the feeling, many people are against asics for good reasons. Look at the centralisation of mining power in btc for example. But I think its unjustified in case of decred. Since here the users are in control and not the miners. Miners in decred are just for the security as they supposed to be and not decision making, that is done by the community.

Moreoveris afaik its pretty easy to develop asics for the blake algo dcr is using. Which means that if its not done out in the open with competition some private company could be able to do it and mine dcr in secrecy which will centralize mining way more then when its done out in the open like this. Or much worse when they would have malicious intentions.

Maybe it will increase some selling pressure in the beginning but it will be worth it cause in the end we'll have the best of both worlds. We have solid mining security which is needed as stated above without giving them the power like in bitcoin. The power stays with the community like it should be, the users of the project.

Thank you for your quick response, I appreciate it! And don't worry it wasn't my only ticket (well it is right now) I have had 5 tickets in the past vote. It is unfortunate but I knew the chances going into it Smiley.

Ah kk then it means ~14 more days at maximum cool stuff. If I waited 4 months I can wait another 2 weeks, thanks for providing that knowledge!
