Hi guys, I'm new here and I just started reading the forum. I see a lot of advise like "invest Bitcoin", buy mining equipment etc. But I don't see anyone talk about daily life products. Food, computers, bills, Christmas shopping. The other day I was paid 4000 usd in btc and now don't know how to spend it wisely. But I ordered a pizza today and it tasted good.

The best way is to spend it like normal money. There aren't many places that accept Bitcoin, but some online stores take Bitcoin, and you can buy things from amazon using purse.io. AFAIK Newegg, Tigerdirect, and dell accept Bitcoin. There might be some stores in your local area that also take Bitcoin, so you should check some maps and merchant directories like coinmap.org

I'd get some miners, because you gotta invest money to make money. Then it depend on what you want to buy, you can buy pretty much anything with Bitcoin. There are websites like Newegg and Overstock that sell tons of stuff, and between a BTC debit card and all the online retailers, you can get pretty much anything that is not cash only.

Yes;
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=5.0

The marketplace has the Computer Hardware subsection which is computer stuff AND ASIC. It also has digital goods sub board. And then there's the services, services announcement and services discussion right there as well.

Remember to use Escrow.

I advice you to hold your coins till the next halving at least, you could this way making good profit, because we expect that the Bitcoin's price will increase after this date. Use fiat to buy food and pay bills and so on, and hold your coins.

I guess it's my luck to blame, I just sealed the deal with this guy from this forum for an iMac. Sent him the money and now I saw everyone is talking about escrow. I'm feeling kind of lame:((

Well i hope its a very well established, active and trusted member, because people make new accounts just to scam people every minute of every hour of everyday. There's a board filled to the brim with scam accusation and thats just the one that get reported.

If you're spending bitcoin at a big retailer like Newegg, Overstock, or Expedia, make sure to use CoinRebates to earn a percentage of your bits back:

The best way to spend bitcoin is to try to get legit gift cards which you can benefit 5% - 20% or maybe more, then through purse.io or gyft which cost cheaper than with paypal and the last one spending like the fiat money.

^^I agree with this, but OP got a nice chunk of change there, so he should spend some of it if he wants.

If you're into coins or bullion, Provident Metals takes bitcoin and they give a discount for using it.  I've used them, and they're definitely reliable.  Lol, that's the only time I've actually spent bitcoin.  I'd definitely save if i were you.

Wow. 4000 USD in BTC is a lot of money. Do you work for BTC?

I wouldn't recommend anyone to start mining now. The difficulty has shot up a lot and it's almost impossible to make a profit or even ROI without some kind of special privilege like free electricity and such.

You can order and buy lots of things with BTC nowadays... Just spend it like you do with your local currency. I think you should try out some of the physical storefronts that offers to accept BTC.

Good luck and don't gamble Wink

What did you sell to the guy who bought to you amounting to $4K?

I was planing to create a website and maybe if I got the right btc amount I could buy the script needed for the website and the hosting plan in btc. There are now domain registrars and hosting provider that accepts BTC, that should be a good way to s pend and of course its an investment.

I do not spend a lot of bitcoin, because in my country it is rare online stores that accept bitcoin.
so I always exchange it for the money and then spend it in the real world Smiley
