Bitcoin can not replace fiat

I think Fiat cannot be replaced by bitcoin because there's a lot of factors that needs to be consider.. once example is that bitcoin is not fully introduce around the world.. for now we have to enjoy the purpose of bitcoins.. who knows in the future. Maybe.

There is no chance that bitcoin can be replace fiat since fiat is our standard and permanent money that we can use locally.. bitcoin is just always alternative payment for online and i think if we will accept bitcoins locally it will stay as alternative currency payment..

You are introducing a new technology and if you want people to use it you have to make a business case and people have to have an incentive to use it. yeah it's highly unlikely that bitcoin would even have a chance to replace what we've already grown accustomed to. the fiat systems been there for anyone can remember and i don't think anything would be able to replace that. well not in the near future that is. it's likely that bitcoin, in a couple of years, would be more widely used but the fiat still would be the main currency around the world

The bitcoin is still not popular at the monent. Not many people are using it. If most governments recognise it, it might replace fiat.

The governments is not stupid, they will not give authority to bitcoin to replace their fiat, although their country condition at inflation, if you know greece case when their fiat collapsed, they using bitcoin for an alternative currency just for a while.

Bitcoin is a very good thing to have as an asset. Just like gold. Even better if I may say. It's secure, and unlike fiat money it actually exists and work is put into it to produce it. This makes it great to store value.
However, it cannot and will not replace current fiat money that the entire world it using. It just cannot.
Take paying a cup of coffee for example. To pay your coffee with bitcoins, one must get bitcoins first, either by mining or buying bitcoins with other kinds of money (*cough*fiat*cough). It ends up being a quite complicated process, don't you think?
Until we reach the point where paying for a cup of coffee is as easy with Bitcoin as it is with cash, we will never get mass adoption. And as far as I see it, there is no way of simplifying the acquiring of bitcoins.

Btcs volatility is the main problem. In a deflationary state, where the value of Btc rises, people will tend not to spend their coins as they would get more a day/week/year later. That transition from asset to currency might be too difficult for mass adoption.

as the number of bitcoin users are very low still very little number of people know about bitcoin as in my area when i started using bitcoin a few number of people were using bitcoin, but now the number the number is increasing from time to time, but i think majority of bitcoin users are still using bitcoin as secondary currency and they also mostly depending on fiat, therefore it is not possible in near future that bitcoin will replace fiat.

But anyone has a smartphone now and can easily connect to the internet almost anywhere. I don't think bitcoin transactions being done online is a problem anymore. You can just meetup in a coffee shop or anywhere that has WiFi if you want to use bitcoin to pay someone. Even though, you're still correct. Fiat will still be used by everyone because it's the traditional currency. People just dislike replacing a traditional one by a new one unless the traditional one gives them discomfort or something.

I have to agree with that, though I don't think there is anything particularly wrong with this state of affairs. I often say it myself that Bitcoin right now is rather a financial asset than a currency. But as long as its price increases, it doesn't really matter since it still gains value. Whether this gain comes through speculation (i.e. Bitcoin being used as a financial asset) or through its use as a currency (i.e. Bitcoin being used as a means of payment) would be inconsequential in the end. When the price growth potential of Bitcoin gets exhausted in due course, the volatility will decrease as well...

And this may celebrate the change in Bitcoin use from a speculative asset toward a means of payment, i.e. currency

Yeah bitcoin needs basic knowledge of internet to use it as it doesn't have a paper form as our fiat currencies that we use in our daily life. Fiat doesn't need any technology knowledge to use it, also can be used offline which is the major reason why fiat is much used. So bitcoin replacing is not possible.
