Lisk should be benefiting from the recent ETH/DAO turmoil; what gives?
LOL LISK Kindergarten seems not to understand that DAO hack is impugning viability of all smart contract coins. LISK included. LISK holders are losing value because of DAO hack.

This could be great for Lisk, only thing Max needs to do is point out how safe lisk is and it's a done deal. Our rocket fuel is practically served to us. If Max can make something out of this great gift then I can see Lisk finally going to places.
You're an idiot. How would Lisk prevent against sloppily written code in a contract? Please tell me. Let alone the risk of systems running on sidechains over which Lisk has virtually no control security-wise. People are swarming to BTC and XMR at the moment. Lisk is rightfully being ignored, because it's shit. There are maybe 1-2 ICO people left in here, because this was a pump & dump scheme from the start. Warned you all plenty of times, but oh noes FUD.

All smart-contract based platforms have got negative trust from investors. Someone mentioned elsewhere, that this might mark a shism between the "traditional" PoW based "just money" cryptocurrencies and the new ones, i.e. crypto 2.0 types. There is something to it. People had 7 Years to work on PoW coins. They withheld attacks well and with being a lucrative target(it's money, after all), it probably wasn't for lack of trying. Platforms like ETH, Lisk and so on are not only relatively new and untested, but they are also way more complicated, providing more possible lines of attacks.

Hey guys, I'm new to this thread and just read up a few pages back. Couldn't stop to wonder though, Mark is in China promoting LISK and making deals with exchanges, etc. then why LISK is dumping atm? Also with the ETH/DAO debacle shouldn't LISK be a viable alternative to jump to? I just don't get all the FUD? Could someone ELI5 with facts?

Lisk doesn't have smart contracts... So this has nothing to do with Lisk. Lisk should be benefiting from the recent ETH/DAO turmoil; what gives?

1. Max isn't doing shit. Just touring conferences as a tourist. I don't know why people picture him striking business deals like some sort of Donald Trump. 2. Lisk is shit. You honestly think it's the go-to coin when smart contract technology is in doubt? Rofl.

Eth is for smart contracts, Lisk is for Blockchain Applications. You can try to make apps on the Eth platform, but is necessary to compile too many smart contracts, that makes Lisk a better alternative for this purpose.

People don't write smart contracts on Lisk in JS. They either develop a blockchain with special transactions (e.g. to send a message), implement a back end function (e.g. to calculate a random number), or connect to/implement directly other services (e.g. to use smart contracts, oracles, storage). Hello everyone, It seems like I am currently in a zone of China with faster internet (I am sitting in the train), or I am just lucky. (I need a VPN to access e.g. BTT and it is usually unusable slow.) I hope everything is fine. In times like these we need to unite and try to help each others. At this stage it is all about cryptocurrencies, blockchains and blockchain/decentralized apps. I wish the best for the Ethereum and TheDAO community. good news LISK is safe! ALL IN LISK
