Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's
computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be
reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

2,5 hours before start right? Great to see Lisk back on track, good luck to everyone! I'll be keeping a very close eye on the markets today. TBH I don't have a clue which way the price will shift - although I'm hoping for an upwards direction.

How does it work with voting for delegates? If i vote with my Lisk share do I actually use up my Lisk balance?

1 LSK can vote for 33 delegates afaik. So voting for 101 delegates costs about 3 LSK.

And what's the theory behind a delegate voting for themselves? If a whale were to use their entire Lisk holdings to vote themselves in is that likely to pay off? I mean would the forging rewards be more than the potential for Lisk holding price rise if the project is to be a success...

Total spend to date approximately = $100k Total available to spend after forging starts = $10M 100x increase in budget = 100x increase in market cap? There is wishful thinking and then there is living in another reality, you sir need to come back to our reality.

Trying to choose which delegates I should vote for is proving to be a daunting and messy process. I've found myself sifting through an overwhelming amount of info from this forum (bitcointalk.org) and others such as lisk.chat, lisk.io, forum.lisk.io, github.com, reddit.com (r/lisk, r/liskmarkets, r/liskdelegates), explorer.lisk.io, login.lisk.io, faucet.lisk.io, blog.lisk.io and academy.lisk.io. This is all disorganized and a pain in the rump. There is no effective way go about this. I'm disappointing with Lisk's efforts on this. Unfortunately, the delegate proposals are presented in varying styles and formats making apples-to-apples comparisons impossible. Many are outdated or incomplete so I have to click through multiple pages of each proposal in search of the full story. There are way too many inter-delegate posts stating "I'll vote for you if you vote for me". There looks to be 800+ delegate hopefuls. And holy cow, selecting the delegates via the https://login.lisk.io/delegates takes forever! Why is there no search function? After all that reading I'm not even sure what voting strategy I should employ. Each delegate hopeful offers their own unique strategy of how they will run their operation. It's hard to know what is best because "best" is a user specific definition depending on personal preferences. I have over 50k LSK. I want to to put it to good use. Should I vote for the delegates who say they are best for the Lisk ecosystem or for those who share their forging rewards? Dunno, it's hard to say. Is anyone else finding this voting experience to be an unpleasant one?

I want to become a delegate but how difficult will it be? Is there a lot of competition for votes?

I think you already did more to make an informed decision than 99 percent of the people will. The problem is that it's a mess, because as you said there are too many hopefuls. The best advise I can give you is to wait some time. See how uptimes develop for various delegates, thats a fair indicator. Wait for the lisk ecosystem to start producing something, so you can find good projects and through that good delegates. Right now everyone just making promises, planning projects that may never be realised. It's simply too early days if you want to vote based on merit. If nothing else you will have much less delegates to choose from, because from that 800+ not 200 will be around a week from now. If you want profit sharing delegates that will also sort itself out, but to be honest, I don't think as a model that will work. One or two may slip into 101, but it's just not a good business model. Too little profit for the node runner even less profit for the voters. So good luck, thanks for being a thoughtful voter, but don't kill yourself over it. There will be opportunities to use your weight well.

Nice to see the community taking over the forging, it was a long wait but here it is!
Also, it's good to know that the Lisk team gave their votes to the people that are with Lisk since day #1.
Good job, exciting days ahead!
