Prototanium v0.10.1.2-pdrobek (32-bit)

I received the new PR Windows wallet the other day from a dev I met recently. He agreed to work on it for the bounty that myself and Edgar offered earlier.

I had good luck with it and I a couple other people I sent it to say it works.

Do you mean you can send Pr coins to a Un client? and vice versa?

Yes, that's correct. Pr and Un/testnet are completely cross compatible.

You can't send Pr to an Un mainnet addy--they don't use the same leading bit in the address (u vs U) but from the Un testnet to the Pr mainnet and back again works perfectly!

Good grief.  "Prototanium" is the UNO testnet (with a branded wallet), it doesn't need and shouldn't have its own thread. Nor, as I have said before, should it be monetised.

Got to agree here. I think the whole monetisation of the UNO testnet as Prototanium is not a good idea. I think it also detracts from UNO mainnet, and for new investors would most likely be quite confusing. I have been around since the beginning of UNO and don't quite understand the need for Prototanium. Not to mention the fact that it is already 3/5ths mined before most people knew what had even happened which could be seen as...

I would prefer that it gets spun off the test net, but it should stay on the test net for at least 1 more year, maybe 3 more years.

Really up the Hag/Dev.  But yes I support the spun off ... eventually happening.

The other thought is going for big blocks so an asset layer could be built on top.  But not so hot on that idea any longer given that there are lots of other new options out there to do something like that.

Right now I think it is best to view PRo as Uno#2, and that perhaps we can start launching a new chain each year in this vain of thought    
Thus the propose of PRo is managing these launch projects.

i have faith that hagbard celine will one day return, he is a very talented creator, but yes lacking in public commitment to his projects.

as a community member i am here for the long haul, but PRo is more on the fun/experiemnt side, less on the professional market use.
that is not so say that in the future things couldn't change, there is a solid tech underlining solid fundamentals.

Great News, Protanium fans!

A developer has claimed the bounty I offered the other day on Cryptocointalk, and has delivered a Prototanium Windows wallet that connects to the network without problems.   I found 5 nodes immediately, but the chain I had did not sync. I downloaded the chain again, and now everything is running fine.

The dev also gave us a wallet for Mac. I was unable to test the Mac wallet, so Mac users let me know your feedback on it.


The developer is anonymous but was introduced to me through a very credible and long-term user on the Cryptocointalk forum who I  have known for two years and trust.  I was assurred by Jimmy on Cryptocointalk (Jimmy runs cryptocointalk) that this dev is legit, but simply doesn't want to be seen as the permanent developer of Protanium. If you're concerned, then sandbox the wallet with Virtualbox.

Not on the wallet yet.  But here is some UNO/Cryptsy news:

Yeah, that's what I was going to say, they will pay these guys $400/hour each out of the Cryptsy money, not government money.
If Paul Vernon actually had a couple million of his own money left, that will pay for the lawyers and receivers and liquid capital that was of the company.

$400/hour is not a lot, it's about the hourly going rate of a mid range decent attorney these days. If you've been to court like me, you've easily paid a lawyer $300-400 an hour.
That money will be locked up for quite a while, if Vernon doesn't have the privkeys to "hack" the UNO as well. You never know, once the price gets too sweet for him with his Chinese girlfriend he may need to cash out coins he can reach to stay on the lam.

As for the Protanium/testnet discussion: Yes, it's true the testnet could need an entire reset at any time should there need to be some heavy testing on it. I thought everyone was aware of that, it being a testnet, but I can so how that would piss people off if they had money involved. Yes, inherently a testnet should actually have no value. If you try to monetize BTCs testnet, they just reset it on purpose.

For anyone unaware.  Camp UNO is divided on Protanium/testnet, some like, some love, and some hate.

Someone more technical (likely only the creator) needs to clarify the possibility/outcome of a UNO testnet reset.  I think the easiest solution is just make another /testnet directory, but I can neither confirm nor deny if that is possible. (Depends on the bitcoin core code).

I would also suggest a snap shot, then untie from the uno/testnet, but that is a hardfork option.  But would end the 'testnet' debate.

First things first ... getting a wallet that syncs ... stay tuned.

Re UNO Testnet/PR - worst that happens is that it gets reset in a future wallet, and you can no longer access your Testnet3/PR through the UNO wallet.  

You'd use the PR client instead.   If he ever needs a Uno testnet because he can't work on PR, BW will create a genesis block for a new testnet and compile a new client. Testnet3/PR has long run off down the road as its own thing. It won't simply evaporate by resetting it, because there is a network and nodes that have arrived at consensus... they won't just immediately wipe out the entire blockchain and sync to block 1 of testnet4.  You'd have to take down the entire network (which admittedly, might not be too difficult).

Anyway... its not a big deal to me. Its just another piece of UNO's interesting history.  

I hope someone is writing all these adventures down. I'd be the first to buy the book, "The Unabridged History of Unobtanium." Chapter 26:  Prototanium.

good idea or not, it is likely the outcome of this disagreement.  when? not soon ... again Blazr/Hag created both ... if he wishes to resurface from the deep and inform us ... that is welcome ... but forking PR off the testnet ends the debate ... and PR walks off as a "cloned premined coin" and "it lives on in infamy".

Maybe this will help:

Forking the testnet is a simple pull-request away, and someone will do it eventually when it's necessary to play with the testnet again (since it is worthless for testing in it's current state, too long and bloated and difficulty too high). If someone wants to keep mining the old testnet at that point, no one can stop them from setting up full nodes to keep it going. We'll just bump the version number and not offer connections to the old testnet.

Of coarse, someone could do that even without a pull request to run a private testnet and that would be fine too.

If you're offering any monetary reward for testnet coins you're simply rewarding the abuse of the testnet. But anyone who needs the testnet probably doesn't care because we can fork it at any time and it's your money to blow.

i stress nothing soon, and again if Hag shows up and can explain how Prototanium can be both the UNO test net and monetized at the same time, we are willing to listen, but i would say the current plan is to fork PR and make it a stand alone coin, no date/time of when that happens but i suggest that that is THE PLAN

Yeah, that's what I was going to say, they will pay these guys $400/hour each out of the Cryptsy money, not government money.
If Paul Vernon actually had a couple million of his own money left, that will pay for the lawyers and receivers and liquid capital that was of the company.

$400/hour is not a lot, it's about the hourly going rate of a mid range decent attorney these days. If you've been to court like me, you've easily paid a lawyer $300-400 an hour.
That money will be locked up for quite a while, if Vernon doesn't have the privkeys to "hack" the UNO as well. You never know, once the price gets too sweet for him with his Chinese girlfriend he may need to cash out coins he can reach to stay on the lam.

As for the Protanium/testnet discussion: Yes, it's true the testnet could need an entire reset at any time should there need to be some heavy testing on it. I thought everyone was aware of that, it being a testnet, but I can so how that would piss people off if they had money involved. Yes, inherently a testnet should actually have no value. If you try to monetize BTCs testnet, they just reset it on purpose.

For anyone unaware.  Camp UNO is divided on Protanium/testnet, some like, some love, and some hate.

Someone more technical (likely only the creator) needs to clarify the possibility/outcome of a UNO testnet reset.  I think the easiest solution is just make another /testnet directory, but I can neither confirm nor deny if that is possible. (Depends on the bitcoin core code).

I would also suggest a snap shot, then untie from the uno/testnet, but that is a hardfork option.  But would end the 'testnet' debate.

First things first ... getting a wallet that syncs ... stay tuned.

Re UNO Testnet/PR - worst that happens is that it gets reset in a future wallet, and you can no longer access your Testnet3/PR through the UNO wallet.  

You'd use the PR client instead.   If he ever needs a Uno testnet because he can't work on PR, BW will create a genesis block for a new testnet and compile a new client. Testnet3/PR has long run off down the road as its own thing. It won't simply evaporate by resetting it, because there is a network and nodes that have arrived at consensus... they won't just immediately wipe out the entire blockchain and sync to block 1 of testnet4.  You'd have to take down the entire network (which admittedly, might not be too difficult).

Anyway... its not a big deal to me. Its just another piece of UNO's interesting history.  

I hope someone is writing all these adventures down. I'd be the first to buy the book, "The Unabridged History of Unobtanium." Chapter 26:  Prototanium.

So, anyone that puts money into it, or trades it, loses all they had no matter what once the blockchain has been reset. There's no need to fork PR.  If UNO devs decide they need a new testnet, they will "fork" testnet, and PR will just go on living as it has.  Cryptapus settled that debate.  

Just a quick wallet update: I paid a dev to build us new Windows wallets.  He did (or at least he seemed to) and everything looked good at first, but then we discovered that a sync problem remained. It seems to have something to do with checkpoints.
So far the dev has not sent updated wallets resolving that issue. I have no futher information.

If nothing is heard soon, I will repost my bounty for working PR windows wallets.

My main interest in saving PR was to try and cleanup a few of the problems for Cryptopia, who took the coin in good faith. They received unfair criticism when the blockchain stalled and people were unable to move their coins.  I've spent about a bitcoin so far (and plenty of hours) trying to keep it up. I am hopeful that a dev with a reputation will stepforward to shepherd PR into the future. 

UNO faced similiar issues in early 2014. A strong community formed around UNO and kept it going. I think that is what will be required for PR to succeed.

The PR network has been restored. We have nodes, a mining pool, an explorer, an exchange.  A working Windows wallet would be a big help right now, as would a reliable dev who could just keep an eye on PR and occassionally provide updates for wallet security. I don't think it would require a huge amount of time.  If a dev looking to make a good name for him/herself sees an active community and a coin that isn't broken beyond repair (which PR is not), they might step in and help out.

Run a node if you can
Go to miningrigrentals.com and rent a little hash (1tb or less) and point it at wmikrut.com pool.
Trade PR on Cryptopia, help make a market. Preferrably the UNO market

I've just performed a linux kernel update for the node at 69.28.82.86:65525 and it is running stable with 10+ connections.

Anyhow, my node has been running fine for months. It was compiled from this source:

There is still a .1 BTC bounty from for a credible dev to fix the Windows PR wallet. It must sync the entire blockchain, find nodes, pass virus scan.

Looks like the blockchain is ok.  Maybe a solo miner forked it temporarily, but if there was a problem it looks like it sorted itself out.

I am able to sync the PR blockchain on Windows using the UNO testnet on the "Unobtanium-Bluechist" wallet compiled by Blazr2 (the wallet with the Blue UNO logo). This wallet can be downloaded from Unobtanium.uno.  It's the first Windows wallet.

I deleted the old blockchain from the /Unobtanium/testnet3/ folder
I ran:   Unobtanium-bluechist.exe -testnet

The UNO wallet connected to testnet3 (aka Prototanium) and downloaded the entire blockchain.

To make it easier to start the wallet in PR mode, I created a text file on my desktop called PR.bat batch and included this line, which has a path to both the exe file and the conf file:

C:\Users\{username}\Desktop\Unobtanium-blueschist\unobtanium-qt.exe -testnet -conf=C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Unobtanium\testnet3\testnet3.conf

In testnet3.conf in the /Unobtanium/testnet3/  folder I included in a few nodes copied from the Network tab on the Chainz explorer (chainz.cryptoid.info/pr/)   This is what I pasted into the testnet3.conf file:

The blockchain broke free from highdiff today and is moving again.

I am connected using the PR wallet now, and able to send coins.

To recap:
I deleted the PR chain in Windows
I started the Unobtanium Bluechist wallet in -testnet mode and synced
I closed Bluechist
I started the PR wallet, and now it is working.

It has to be some kind of checkpoint issue.  I don't know when the next checkpoint is, but I expect the PR wallet will lock when it hits that checkpoint, and then I will have to redo those steps.

Both of the Pr windows release builds don't seem to be working properly.

After syncing the Pr (Unobtanium testnet) wallet - which appears to only find 3 connections - I re-tested the v0.10.1.12-retrograde windows release, which seems to be functioning OK.

As above, it is probably advisable to install / run Pr from the Unobtanium (testnet3) --testnet folder / location. So, that the UNO --testnet wallet can be used to re-sync if necessary. Then try running the v0.10.1.12-retrograde windows release, for improved connectivity.

Real price is not 500sat, because i myself will buy 30,000 PR if it drops to 500sat and theirs already 13k+PR buy orders above 500 sat.

I suspect the real price currently lies somewhere between 9000SAT and 2500SAT so around 5000-6000Sat seems reasonable.

With 5 btc u can take this fucking prototanium to 100K. Uno were not like this. While in UNO I knew that doubling / tripling is simply impossible without at least two hundreds btc being dropped onto the market. I succesfully made a few payments between cryptopia and the client, i used v0.10.1.2 version (same as the one on cryptopia) , was the client synced completely?it's usually recommended to sync a QT client before sending anything  

But i have another theory regarding this issue, maybe the fact that there's only 1 connection on the Cryptopia wallet, and if that connection sometimes has issues, it could cause delays or something like that, being dependent on that single connection

As I said, both my Linux & Windoze wallets were the latest versions with 4 connections each. Even with the cryptopia wallet having only one connection, the TxID should still show on the block explorer, as should the payment made to my other wallet - but nothing shows up.

I've tried rescanning & reindexing - nothing. All my (few) mined coins have gone.

I've stopped mining this coin & deleted the wallets now anyways, with no dev & vanishing transfers it's pretty pointless tbh.

Hello, i have a small investment in this coin and might consider helping the team in some capacity. The market cap of PR is less than $60K at a price of 27.5 cents and 194,000 shares outstanding as I write this and yet it has many similarities to its parent Unobtanium which trades at an $8.3M market cap.  I feel this is an undervalued sleeper give the onslaught of dubious ICOs that have rained on our community, many of which IMHO are questionable deals. Is there a slack or discord channel where I can join the conversation with developers?  Please advise over the forum or PM. Thank you!

Hi, This seems like a very interesting crypto, I have compared it to its sister crypto Unobtainium and it seems to have exactly the same potential. Found the issue. Prototanium's chainID is the same as UNO therefore cannot be mined at the same time as UNO unless there is an update released.

I also submitted a pull request to change the UNO testnet chainID to match Prototanium, so that there wont be a fork.

I added the addnode and downloaded the blockchain, however it only got me to 3yrs 12weeks to sync. It says i have 0 active connections and it's taking about 10 mins to sync one week. Any suggestions on what I can do to speed it up? Thanks so much, at least it's syncing now!

I really like the product, and I think nearly all coins they feature are forever here.

These multi-coin-wallets allow traders to hold dozens of coins in HAND (literally) and not on the exchange.

So I see a bright future for being on these services, and starting to reshift my portfolio to only/mostly Coinomi  coins.

Mega stuck in the mud, I will not and would not suggest a HF.
Rather stick with chainz as the official node to call the block.

Maybe if there is a joint force of unity HERE and someone is smart enough to coordinate a rollback (reorg) that communicates to chainz,  since there is no active market api, okay with such.

But also cool to be the real unobtainium, cause it does not block, until PH/s swings around.

By "executable" do we assume Windows? I haven't yet finished compiling Windows, but Portable Linux 64-bit wallet and server I have at http://btcinfo.sdf.org/uno/index.html. I don't usually compile Mac wallets, simply due to lack of interest.
