I would look this way that once many of the merchants start accepting bitcoin as a payment option & a network is established globally, then the future is bright undoubtedly. But on the other side , regulations are not strong enough to make it happen which will certainly may happen in the future for making the digital transactions happen even from the banks side. Good point mate, bitcoin has threaten businesses like banks because it's a big competition and the government are also thinking that it's bad for the economy because it will help people from preventing not to report it's real income. Well, I see this is a challenge for a lazy government, even if they will make precautions to ban bitcoin it's hard to eliminate this in the circulation since it has already spread all over the world and as it gets popular it also gets stronger.
