I have a load of xvg sat on an exchange. Can I leave them there whilst the hard fork goes ahead, I have little desire to mess about trying to sort a working wallet on OSX.

Is there actually a wallet that works? Page after page there is issues with wallets, I think I will leave my xvg on the exchange still.

What hope is there for the verge if the wallet cannot be sorted out?

I actually just moved to the 4.0.1 wallet (see OP for link if you don't have it) today - didn't have any issues (on Windows or Deb) since the full release on the 8th and now with the fork update.

I actually made a backup for the %%APPDATA%%/VERGE folder just in case, but it wasn't necessary. Of course while we all wait on the fork to happen etc, I'm not moving anything around so actual functionality I haven't tested other than it showing all my transactions/balances etc.

Verge has only been losing value As Time ticks on. Once the new exciting news comes out, (which were all hoping to hear soon) brings a much-needed long-awaited uptick to the value is it enough to keep it trending upward? Is it enough to make it hold a new price point? Unfortunately, the coin has lost like 60% value in last 30 days, as a lot of others...hoping we can start building with this new news and start climbing as a successful coin should and stop making excuses. More news, more positive PR as a standard...we need to stop stooping in the corner looking outwards and step in the light, even if that means learning something new

course, its up how many % points from 5months ago...  200...  no..400 i think.      (start at 2 stat's and its now 850?) so thats...  425%?  er oops. thats multiplication Not percentage.

I have the 4.0.1 qt and the older electrum and I did a test today to see if I could transfer some coins from the electrum to the qt and it worked flawlessly.  The electrum didn't have a hard time with the tx like it was having before the fork and it worked great. 

On a side note I was mining on pools.hashrefinery during the fork and it started to basically mine every block after the fork for an hour or so and then they took xvg off all their algos and you still can't mine it there.  Did they mine the wrong chain?

On exchange Litebit.eu Verge is already 2 days not available due to "maintenance"

I mailed them, they said they will update the wallet, we have nothing to worry about.
I think they will do what they say lol

That's not unkind.  He's right.

Who's going to burn it?  I don't think the devs are sitting on billions of xvg.  AFIK this was Doge Dark and it was taken over at some point along the way after it was abandoned.  It would be interesting to see what the actual supply is and how much was lost over the years.

Is verge a tor integrated coin? does not seem to be integrated natively with tor, don't see tor is called in the coin code, don't even see any .onion seeds in the code. Do I read the code wrong? Is it just integrated with tor through proxy like that in bitcoin?

My Balance not show up in Wraith Protocol Wallet, nearly 24hours behind.

Most exchanges are in maintenance mode. Will I get the XVG that I am mining atm? Strange thing, never hat such thing with XVG.

In Mac terminal type:
