This session features perspectives on the the evolution of Blockchain, Distributed Ledgers, smart contracts with three of the lawyers who were early legal entrants in the world in Bitcoin and the Blockchain, Patrick Murck (Harvard University), Reuben Grinberg (Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP) and Christine Duhaime (Digital Finance Institute), as well as Stephanie Kent, the Project Manager with the distributed ledger Krypton.

Intended to be very practical and futuristic at the same time, this discussion will inform  attendees on how distributed ledger technology is transforming financial services and other services and will arm attendees with a roadmap for where the tech is headed.

Also part of the discussion will be legal issues that are relevant and impact the development of the technology and finally, will end with a discussion on the application of distributed ledger technology for law firms (LawTech).

Did you get your invitation letter for your visit to China yet. . What's your aim to attending the conference? I invest in new alt coins as a hobby and I am getting the same vibe from krypton as nem in 2014  . Do you have a specific road map and time schedule to achieve certain milestones ? How do you plan to compete against other ethereum clones or inspired coins like lisk, rise , expanse or even dlisk? Are you catering to certain niche markets maybe attracting more women into crypto industry. I apologize if I sound condescending but in my view you should leverage the fact that there are very few woman in charge of a crypto project and try to develop projects on krypton that interest woman as right now I feel women are in general not interested in cryptocurrency.

Anyway keep up the good work, I bought a little krypton during the recent rise, although I lost .5 btc i plan on buying more, if you keep working like you are doing right now it's a fantastic opportunity for all of us early adopters

Did you get your invitation letter for your visit to China yet?

No. Wanxiang Blockchain Labs (WBL) requires that I purchase the conference ticket prior to issuing me the invitation letter required for a visitor's visa to China. The good news here is that they are offering a reduced rate on the conference ticket to projects just like Krypton. I have applied. Here are terms for the reduced rate:

What's your aim to attending the conference?

My reason for attending any conference is the same. I'm not only the founder, but also the public face of Krypton. As such, it's my responsibility to create business connections with other companies who have useful tech for KR, present to  projects looking for a blockchain solution, scout for talented devs and secure funding for future development.

Do you have a specific road map and time schedule to achieve certain milestones?

Yes. Krypton's dynamic roadmap is on our Trello page. trello.com/b/JmmF7y7A/krypton There are no specific time schedules assigned to these tasks as many of the items are not staffed yet by individuals who's progress I can monitor. Krypton is still a volunteer community. As more people join our grassroots effort, you will see more of the developing tasks come to completion. Our core dev team is busy with our first major project, while at the same time, planning something very big. More details on this in a minute. When I have a budget to work with, I will be employing individuals to work on specific items and I will hold them accountable to time schedules.

How do you plan to compete against other ethereum clones or inspired coins like lisk, rise , expanse or even dlisk?

Excellent question and one that delves directly into the heart of the very big task our core dev team is planning.

Fortunately, our parent chain and main competitor, Ethereum, has highlighted Krypton's way forward. By this I mean that they have shown us what not to do.

For instance, Krypton will never fork our client to correct errors in an application that sits on top of our client (KVM.) To us, this is simply bad business and only serves to divide the community.

Another spotlight we are very grateful for is the closer look the entire crypto community has been given of the Solidity language used to code smart contracts and d-tech (dApps, DACs and DAOs.) Many of the brightest minds in academia and the private sector are now focused on more secure ways forward with Solidity including edits to the Solidity compiler, best coding practices and even complete re-writes in the form of new, emerging languages better suited to be employed atop the Krypton client. I am closely monitoring developments on this cutting edge of our new technology.

It might sound broad but, what I think will differentiate Krypton from similar chains is our focus on security, not only in dealing with the application languages employed, but also making sure that our client (KVM) is as rock-solid as it can be. This is the major project that our core dev team is addressing: a complete re-write of the KVM client in a language other than Golang, in a language that is more secure. We feel that though this will take a lot of time to accomplish, it will make Krypton stand out amongst the crowd and be more attractive to public businesses and major adopters.
Krypton will not be releasing any d-tech for corporate use until the re-write of the KVM client is complete and we are satisfied as to it's security capabilities.

Are you catering to certain niche markets maybe attracting more women into crypto industry?

No but, this side effect is only an added plus for Krypton. Something else to consider, when Krypton does become a public company, whether a foundation or a corporation, it will only be better served by me, a woman, at it's helm, for the specific opportunities afforded to minority and female-owned businesses. I will be actively seeking the appropriate grant opportunities and hope that angel investors would also take special note here.

Had some weirdness today.

First i somehow have forgotten the password(its not the one i was sure i set) to an account.
Only had about 97 kr there.

Whatevs i thought.. made a new account and mined 100ish KR to it this morning before moving to other things.

The weird part is when i checked the wallet now, it has like 5.6 KR.

What happend? I was on a fork? Or wth?

was wondering if i just remember wrong, but in addition i logged the balance in a notepad for 1 hour just too get an avg. number and idea of daily results from that miner.
notepad says:

Also wondering about the wallet. If i let it stay open and click around, it suddenly starts to consume a lot of GPU power. It takes about 15-20 Mh/s from GPU 2(why 2??) and the machine becomes sluggish.
So i try to do the things a need and close it quickly.

Im watching the GKR.
After a while i notice it only gives the message "mined 5 blocks back" .. and in the epxlorer that number belongs to supernova.

Restarting GKR then suddenly says:

Now, I don't know if you use a VPN but, I do and I only see one node while using it.

I should add that my problem was solved.

The reason was lack of nodes.
Manually adding them after starting was the solution.

Ps: Do NOT open the wallet gui before they are added. It seems to cancel/screw with it.

Krypton has been invited to partner with the University of Luxembourg's SnT FinTech Lab.

From the invitation letter:

SnT is a centre of excellence with 250 scientists on staff covering cybersecurity and many other areas in ICT.  What makes SnT unique in Luxembourg is the combination of fundamental long-term R&D combined with industrial partnerships, with  industry  partners,  government institutions and start-ups.  

The centre is led by prof. Bjorn Ottersten who is an eminent scientist and equally managing a research group focussed on  satellite  communications and signal processing.  

Since 4Q  2016, SnT decided to develop FinTech as one of the pillars of the centre’s activities for the next few years. This coincides with an emerging interest to engage in FinTech amongst the 154  banks,  investment  funds,  asset managers, auditors etc. located in Luxembourg. In 1H 2016 we  arranged a very successful FinTech event attended by 500 top  executives and I have met with more than 60 potential partners at CXO level to  discuss  joint  research  projects  in FinTech. We are now signing R&D partnerships with several of these stakeholders.

The main industry interest In Luxembourg are in three areas:

• -Blockchain, Bitcoin, DLT and Smart Contracts
• -Data Analytics
• -Cybersecurity and Testing

The  second  important  trend  is  that  potential  partners  interested  to  develop  innovation  enabled  by Blockchain  and  DLT  technologies;  but  they  would  like  to  be  able to  prototype  and  test  various solutions before embarking upon a longer term research project.

The  FinTech  Lab  aims  to  provide  this  environment  by  hosting  a  technical  platform  and  the human resources required to experiment with emerging paradigms in the FinTech area. The Lab will  be  a  necessary  interface  between  SnT's  researchers,  R&D  departments  of  leading  FinTech developers, scientists around the world and, for some  of the applied R&D with partners  enrolled into the  Partnership  Program;  thereby  enabling  Luxembourg  to  create  an  economic  impact  and  attract inward investments.

We  would  like  to  invite  KRYPTON  to  participate  in  this Lab  by  contributing  to  a  cutting  edge  and vendor-neutral testbed for designing, developing, prototyping and validating multiple testbed solutions within the main FinTech research areas pursued by SnT. This  is  exactly  why  we  would be  very interested to  develop a  win-win partnership  with  KRYPTON.
