It was announced today that Esteban Ocon will leave Alpine at the end of season.

Probably nobody isn't surprised about it. He isn't bad driver as he had one win and few podiums, but how he collided with probably every teammate he had is just incredible. I'm sceptical about his chances to get seat in other team for the next season.

I'm not surprised, yeah.  Grin  In fact firstly they were thinking about benching him on the Canadian Grand Prix weekend. But things have really come to this point then. Ocon is normally a really ambitious driver as I said before. But he doesn't know when to be patient and when to be more aggressive. He is just causing his team a serious level of damage in this way.  Sad

He is quite arrogant at the same time. Do you remember his verbal challenge with Alonso? This guy thought he was better than Alonso.  Grin

Lol, that 5k for tsunoda is something I would wonder. Like these are million dollar worth of cars, what could he have done that would have cost only 5k to fix? I do not think that even the smallest front wing flap damage would be more than that, I do not understand what happens with these cars and how much it costs, and zero damage makes sense if you didn't hit anywhere like Hamilton, but 5k makes no sense, nothing is that cheap, must be something very very funny.

Perez was always a little carless driver, look at last year and how many DNF and damages he had, he races in a way that he puts himself against other drivers, to make sure that he doesn't leave a spot, his defense is great but also it's very costly as well like we can see here.

because Ocon and Bearman don't have bad relationship and Ocon might be a good senior for Bearman to be able to pursue a career in F1. And hopefully that's the case, because after all Ocon is still a pretty good racer, but it's just that sometimes he can't control his emotions and is too selfish.
Is there any prior history between them that suggests they are cool with each other? As far as my search goes, I only found they compete once in one of the races[1]. I'm not sure if Ocon will change even if he changed teammates to be honest, it's pretty difficult to change your personality unless there's a big trigger. Maybe his new teams would assume he will stay the same and just fine a suitable teammate for him instead.

I come late but, really Red Bull and Sergio Perez are extended their contract for two more years? What this mean?.

Firts of all, mean something? i dont know maybe is the first clue about Verstappen going out?, is Perez gonna be and willing to be the second driver for two more seasons, and when his performances are being poor?. I dont know i dont see a good trade for any, only a little for RB as a team.

Ocon will definitely find a new team, but I think Haas is only a solution if he doesn't find anything else. Haas is just bad and I don't see how Haas can get out of it now or in the future?

I think the two experienced drivers Hülkenberg and Magnussen get everything they can out of the car in bad or difficult conditions.

Thanks for sharing the source. Weirdly, Google search failed to detect this. Maybe because the resolution is different and the image was cropped. Looks like the numbers are manually calculated by the chart maker based on internet research if I read it correctly. At least we should be able to compare or verify it if the numbers look a bit odd.

Well, according to this article, they decided to extend his contract because they believed he still could perform as a second driver and help them win the championship[1]. The writer speculates that the new contract will include a performance clause, which means they can end it sooner if he fails to perform again. I think that makes sense. While they wait and see for a better driver to come, they can use his service for a while.

I just found out today when opening X to see the latest information in several fields that I interested in including MotoGP.

Breaking News, MM to Partner Pecco in Ducati Lenovo Tim in 2025. That's what I got in the MotoGP account.

Is it because of the progress he showed this season or because of the Ducati business in attracting sponsors?
In terms of race in several races, Marquez is very good, The Baby Alien seems to return to his heyday when with Honda.

I come late but, really Red Bull and Sergio Perez are extended their contract for two more years? What this mean?.

Firts of all, mean something? i dont know maybe is the first clue about Verstappen going out?, is Perez gonna be and willing to be the second driver for two more seasons, and when his performances are being poor?. I dont know i dont see a good trade for any, only a little for RB as a team.

i've heard the news and it is very nice to see how marquez finally moved to the ducati team after his very good performance at gresini. this might be a turning point in marquez's career, because with only a 2023 motorbike, he was able to be in 3rd position, and i am very optimistic that he can be in 1st position using the latest motorbike from ducati. i am optimistic that he can get his world title in the next session.

but there are 4 marquez sponsors who will leave him because of conflicts with ducati sponsors, such as redbull, oakley, allianz, and samsung. although there has been no official statement from them, it is possible that marquez could lose 40 million euros per year if they withdraw from marquez. but whatever it is, marquez's party must have a solution for this and they already understand better.

Anyway, do you guys have any idea how bumpy the track in Montreal is?  Red Bull might not be handling the ground effect as well as they used to me thinks...  Leclerc to get the top spot in quali is at 7.00.  Worth the risk?

Yeah, I know. This track is quite challenging for cars having shaking problems. Red Bull has been trying to deal with this problem for some time indeed so maybe Verstappen can have another tough race... I hope he struggles too.  Tongue  Otherwise there wouldn't be any proper challenge for the win unless Verstappen has a problem with the car like he had during the last laps of Imola GP.

When it comes to Leclerc's qualifying odds, why not give it a try?  Grin  He must be more confident of himself after taking the pole and winning the race in Monaco. As long as the car is okay too it is possible.

Well, according to this article, they decided to extend his contract because they believed he still could perform as a second driver and help them win the championship[1]. The writer speculates that the new contract will include a performance clause, which means they can end it sooner if he fails to perform again. I think that makes sense. While they wait and see for a better driver to come, they can use his service for a while.

I think they made that decision based on Tsunoda and Ricciardio as well. They looked at both of the reserve drivers basically, and realized that they are not going to get anything from them, and Perez is by far better than both, which is why they decided that they are going to keep Perez.

It is not directly just related to Perez being good, it's about the fact that there is no other driver they could get which would be better than Perez, this means that Perez is good of course but it also means that others are worse. I believe that they should try to get someone younger for the future, but for the time being they do not need that, some experienced driver that will keep pushing to help Max is what they need at the moment.

It will be a fun week for sure. Sad that RBR has a free comeback for this track now.


So it seems that in these 3 sessions it will most likely rain? well, this might be quite an exciting race, because with the potential for rain, it will force the teams to provide their best strategy, and this might also be quite a chaotic race if the rain really falls in the middle of the race. However, I am quite optimistic that in this race Ferrari can get a podium, with or without rain, because of the good results of their upgrade and the confidence of Charles and Sainz in showing their best performance.

^  And it's not just that.  It looks like Ferrari's upgrades since Imola is finally seeing dividends.  I hope it doesn't rain like what coinlocket$ said so we could get to see fair action on this track.  I might bet small to win 100 bucks for Leclerc to get pole at qualifying.  Grin

This could be the spot before the books adjust and recalibrate their lines.

It's also not just about confidence...  It's about momentum too and Ferrari may well carry it out to Canada.

I see the precipitation for the time of qualifying and race are like this now:

  • Around 20% for qualifying time
  • 18% for race time

But we will see. Weather can be really unpredictable sometimes. I would like to see some rain for teams to develop different strategies. It would make the race quite entertaining.  Smiley

When it comes to Ferrari... I really want to see them doing a good job here. I think 100 bucks for Leclerc is a risk worth taking.  Grin  Leclerc doesn't have any pole in Canada yet if I'm not wrong. But momentum is on his side indeed.
