Well, I am not launching (and will never be launching) anything but if the majority wants a light client launched with just the basic coin transfer functions armed, I would offer my assistance in implementing such functionality for whoever feels empowered to get the ball rolling. Maybe a democratic vote would be the right thing here?

So if someone starts a vote, I will vote for no. But if yes wins, I can assist with coding (not launching).

I think 3 options would be enough:
(1) Basic wallet with transfer feature
(2) Minimum-featured stable wallet - to be defined
(3) Maximum-featured stable wallet - to be defined

For options (2) and (3) we would need to know possible ETAs

As I stated earlier, I would really like to hear EK's take on this matter. I think that as a trusted person, who knows this system the most intimately and being the main core dev, he can help us understand where we stand, what we could expect and possible time frames we could be talking about to reach such state.

There's a very simple answer to that.  

By allowing those that want to dump to get out, you allow fresh blood to come in.  

Like devs, testers, PR people, who can then have a financial stake in the success of the project.

What we have currently is a mass of investors, but a deficit of devs, testers and PR people.  Let's get rid of some of the former to make way for some of the latter.

Nothing but p&d. Ability to create an opportunity to buy in late and relatively cheap for non-donators by creating FUD and play the trade game.

A waste of time for donators and developers.

Thus my suggestion to consider an MVP as the minimal launch point so we can at least launch with some of the functionalities and have some advantages over other projects that still did not deliver anything but promise to do so.

I think it's wrong to imply that folks that want a Lite-version are only interested in dumping/cheap coins/whatever.

The argument pro LV is to attract more attention and more developers.

Though i think that you cannot add other devs to the project just like that, it's not a matter of giving funds or XEL to some guy and go: Let's work!

To integrate external/new developers into such a difficult project as Elastic isn't easy and i had always the impression that EK should finish a first version and then (with slower speed of development) we could integrate new devs.

In normally, first release for traders / holders & exchanges. Dont forget, best PR is exchange on market That's normally. We can do too
