I don't understand the comma placement in the dropbox link. Is that supposed to be a decimal point??

Congrats everyone on seeing this project through. Especially EK. Congrats, man, almost there. Seems like it will pay off.

Yep, it's decimal point

We should definitely manage to get XEL traded in one of the big exchanges and even more so in a major Chinese one Cheesy (I think they will loveeeee xel)
Do we have Chinese connections here to promote it within the community there? an article for that market could be sweet!
Soon it will be time to do some serious PR work to push this to the spot lights in as many news outlets as possible.

So at the moment I would say that Elastic is suited for "brute forcing" computationally infeasible tasks. The input data is just the program itself and some small (yes, 256bit is impossible to brute force but very small to store) input. This can be used to perform some optimization (Genetic Algorithms, Random Walk, ...) or merge mine another coin.

This is just the first step, this does not mean that some bright heads do not figure out a way to extend that set of possible use cases.

What I would also love, since we have a "cloud computing coin" to embed distributed storage at some later point. But that it future work ;-) Lets focus on this one first.

so the main features are same aforesaid?

Status Update:
I will be finished with all my open todos by the last day of January. It might happen that, meanwhile, new TODOs pop up though. Yet, at this moment, I would say we would have a finished product by then.

Great work EK!

There is no promotion team, I guess. And the community for now is actively represented only by our great devs EK and coralreefer, and unvoid (Block Explorer), beyinsi (new site), ttookk. All these people are putting their time (hope I didn't forget anyone Smiley) into Elastic for free. Unfortunately they don't have access to the donated funds, because the wallet(s) we donated to is(are) under multisig, and one the sigs is controlled by Lannister, who we haven't seen for quite a long time here.

IMO we need at first a nice-looking Opening Post with good graphics and explanation about what Elastic can do and how it works. And I will be happy to make the same translated cross-post in Russian section of BCT Wink

I have a very unrelated, but interesting (at least to me) question. It was triggered by the previous post though, so its not too unrelated Smiley

How it happened that Lannister is a "Hero Member" with his 140 activity and 140 posts overall??!

This is from his profile (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=259058):

Quote
Name:    Lannister
Posts:    140
Activity:    140
Position:    Hero Member

And this is from Bitcointalk ranking thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0):

Quote
Full Member:   Activity: 120, gets 3 gold coins under his name.
Sr. Member:   Activity: 240, gets 4 gold coins under his name.
Hero Member:   Activity: 480, gets 5 gold coins under his name.

How it can happen? Does it mean he has deleted the majority of his posts made before?

Sorry, I know some folks here get nervous when people talk about funds and Lannister Wink, but I am now talking about Lannister solely. No funds talk involved  Tongue

read all the posts yourself!

sometimes ppl delete his posts and the ranking remain.  we discussed this in the original thread.

I bet there are 3 different threads if you follow this project at very beginning.

Ok, thanks, question closed. I am still unsure of that guy and of his behavior, but that is long painful off-topic, so I would refrain from commenting on that.
Thanks again.
