Some questions regarding SuperNodes:
1) The 250K XEL will be locked for what time intervals? I.e. how often will the online status of the SuperNode be checked? 2) If its status is offline, then the funds are returned automatically? 3) How can a SuperNode owner be sure that he will never confirm false work solutions, so that he never risks losing these precious 250K XELs? 4) What are the minimum requirements for such a node, apart from 24/7 internet connection?

Based on NXT - are there any (or the same) forging rewards?

The miner can easily be built using Mingw32 to create a Windows exe. You`re wrong - github-repo doesn`t contain any makefile Um...you need to take 2 seconds and actually read the readme file on the git before you post what can and can't be done. Or I guess you have no clue what cmake is.

you can't, they're hardcoded.

This is very interesting.
How can one apply to be a Super node? And if possible, what are the hardware specs for that?

So, how do you become a guardnode?
you can't, they're hardcoded. I'm thinking the question was more about who owns those hardcoded guardnodes...this I'm not sure. Regarding emdje's SN question. Based on EK's last post, it looks like the amount of collateral has been reduced to 250K XEL to run a SN...so if you want to put up that collateral, you are eligible. I believe we still need to workout the final hardware specs for the SNs. There are currently 2 primary limiting factors, the amount of memory used by the AST engine, and the max AST depth allowed by the resources on the SN. Because the SN is pretty much just running the miner code, EK and I will need to come up these values (the current values I have in the miner are too low as discussed in earlier posts). EK, just a reminder...the one difference between a SN and a miner would be that the SN must reset all memory each iteration where, the miner can choose to skip this step to improve mining performance. Let me know if you have that covered or need me to add that in.

I have added numerous tests which test all kinds of reward, deposit and deposit forfeit scenarios! However, those tests do not test what has not been thought of. We need at least 1-2 days of heavy testing I would say.
... ah, and: everthing is in the Git.
looks great EK! 3) How can a SuperNode owner be sure that he will never confirm false work solutions, so that he never risks losing these precious 250K XELs?
Good question, could something simple like, forgetting to update your supernode, mess up the confirmations and lead to a forfeit the 250K? no place to buy XEL yet ?
not yet be patient...all in good time

Guys, compiled elastic-pl and elastic-core from github. Wallet works fine, but can't sync the blockchain - I guess there're no peers and/or SNs, right? Are we ready for testing...?

although yobit is also an option.
Seriously you prefer yobit over nova or cryptopia? Yobit is notorious for being a sleazy exchange. Yeah Yobit is shitty and sleazy and all that jazz but unlike nova and cryptopia people actually use yobit. With that being said, Poloniex would still be an infinitely better alternative.

Yeah, they use it... to pump and dump shitcoins. I'm afraid a first appearance on yobit, followed by a couple of p&d sessions will do more harm to elastic's reputation than good. Still, in the long run it probably won't matter. What matters currently is a smooth mainnet launch. If the tech is as good as we expect it to be, it will be in the big leagues in very little time

not yet be patient...all in good time I think the best way is to create a term deposit. If a Supernode or Guardnode works wrong then create the network a Termdeposit. You can then the coin not move for xy time. Example 3 month. I think that is the best way! Look my Europecoin - Term Deposit Best Regards Christian Donation for Idea ^^ 1LGFjT6P34FsF3xV25qroLqTmjTyp6phZy
