I quietly added support for ozcoin to http://btcstats.net and just didn't tell anyone Smiley

You're welcome to use that until Graet makes something awesomer:

http://btcstats.net/?ozcoin

For example:

Obviously, you can't effectively use the sig version anymore, but it is there in case people are using other, non-broken, forums as well.

We are noticing a buildup of Namecoins
If you have not enabled "automatic Namecoin Exchange into Bitcoin" please doublecheck if you put valid Namecoin Address into your account settings (User Account - Pool Options).

On Sunday, May 13, 2012 we will set "automatic Namecoin Exchange into Bitcoin" for all accounts left with an "Invalid Namecoin Payout Address".

Thanks for your support.

Does the forum just download the avatar image now and keep it static? Seems like it doesn't update

Since you talked about it, you have automatically killed it. Never discuss luck because that breaks things.

Simple question about the luck chart on this page

http://ozco.in/content/luck-bitcoin

Is the moving average (red line) being below the difficulty (yellow line) indicative of finding blocks at a rate faster than expected (ie good luck) or do the two lines not have any specific correlation?

I am guessing that in an ideal pool where luck is always constant the moving average would be expected to follow exactly the difficulty... am I understanding this chart correctly?

The red line is a moving average over the last 15 blocks, so yes red line below yellow line is good Smiley
I am planning to get an "all time luck" chart up as the 15 blocks is quite a small sample size Smiley
Currently pool all time luck is represented by ø Shares/Difficulty Ratio:   94.32%, again lower is luckier Smiley

I am guessing that in an ideal pool where luck is always constant the moving average would be expected to follow exactly the difficulty... am I understanding this chart correctly?
and yep. if every block was solved in the "Difficulty number of shares" luck and difficulty would be the same line Smiley

Hi Miners,
I need to put a couple of things out there:

Now that the pool is running sweetly and support demands are decreasing I have had time to re-evaluate the costs of running Ozcoin.
We have grown from one server to 3 (soon to be 5) other costs add up, domain registration, SSL certs etc.
Currently we are running at ~0.8% "donations", to cover running costs this needs to be closer to 1.5%. (~$600AUD or 120BTC per month)
If it was at 2% I could afford to thank the code crew (a little Wink ) for their continuing efforts Smiley
I really do not want to follow the "we are big now so we can charge fees" approach, Ozcoin continues to commit to being a 0fee pool.
I am also averse to charging "donations" for added service levels. We would like to offer an excellent 0fee service to all miners (except instant payouts for VIPs where we are taking a risk of orphan blocks).
So I would like to encourage all Ozcoin miners that are enjoying our service to set a regular donation amount in the user Account -> Pool options section of site, use the donation address on site for one off contributions or point a miner to our "donation" address -u ozcoin.donate -p p for a while Smiley
We are also seperating out NMC donations from BTC donations on user request to be able to change amount.

Other site development continues

Now the other thing I'm having a problem with I have put "donation" in quotes as I really need to find a different thing to call it. Donations are only acceptable by registered charities in my country, I have been through thesaurus and am still not winning. :/
"contributor" or "site supporter" were 2 I thought of - anyone have good ideas? Cheesy

Thanks for taking the time to read,
Graeme

I've increased my contribution percentage.  When you get the NMC contribution separated then I'll set that to a 100% so let us know when that is done.
Thanks,
Sam

Yeah I started off as a greedy miner with a 0% donation. I just put it up to 2.5% because I want your pool to continue existing. It's one of the better one's out there.

is the pool down? website doesnt load.

This got me thinking, if the pool isnt completely down, (miners are still able to mine) but the site is down. Are the stats still being recorded? hence shares are correctly counted? how can we confirm this?
