If you we have a lot of money to put on bitcoin then we can manipulate the price but if you don't have a lot of money then you can only afford 1 bitcoin i think it will be hard to manipulate the bitcoin price for you.

I know there are many big players who manipulate bitcoin price and make huge profits but can we the bitcointalk members also form a cartel and let bitcoin price never fall?is it possible that we manipulate price as I am sure most of bitcoin users visit this forum
It is possible if we have volume of bitcoin. The price is dictated by the buy and sell activities in the market. If somebody sells a huge volume if bitcoin in a lesser price then surely bitcoin price will go down. We don't have a big deposit of btc and at the same time most in this site are dependent on the signature campaigns. Even if we combined all our assets it is still not enough, who we are compared to the billionaires. |

Buyers and sellers don’t have to label their motivations for making a move in Bitcoin. Bitcoin could be openly manipulated by investors with a lot to gain and very little to lose. |

China miners don't control bitcoin price, even having loads of money and a good ammounts of bitcoins. Early adopters, take an example as Nakamoto, the creator of bitcoin with a huge power to affect the price anytime, those is the people behind the bitcoin value. And yes bitcoin can be and is being manipulated the same way others coins and currencies are from their countries.

And yes bitcoin can be and is being manipulated the same way others coins and currencies are from their countries.
fiat can also be manipulated same thing with bitcoin. its just a matter of who and intention, if he just wants to earn by dumping and then buying low then sure a big whale with 50K btc. this is risky though most of them creates buy wall. they end up losing btc instead if there is a buy wall. |

I think you are true, if a person is more richer like bill gates and put all of their wealth in bitcoin then he will be able to manipulate the price of bitcoin according to his wish. |

yeah i agree with this. and i always tell those who say miners will stop working if the price goes down and they will not make profit. i tell them that miners are the biggest whales and if they desire they can change the price so that it becomes profitable for them. |

yeah i agree with this. and i always tell those who say miners will stop working if the price goes down and they will not make profit. i tell them that miners are the biggest whales and if they desire they can change the price so that it becomes profitable for them. I think not only can control the bitcoin miners but the mafia that has more than 10k BTC bitcoin. they can control the market in bitcoin price also How would the miners would be a big deal in manipulation of the bitcoin price, I think they can't do anything unless they are also an investors. Whales are investors for sure not miners. |

it's definitely possible if you have enough people with a good amount of coins to hold them for a very long time, but the words of the people here don't have any value since they change their mind on a daily basis. i am more a supporter of letting the market do what the whales want. that's happening in every market. it allows us to make profit and to buy back at lower levels.

It's better to you to build a group which have many members and also money and the things/decision that you will make is uniform i mean the move of one is the move of all. In that way you/we can manipulate the price.

1-5 bitcoins will not move the market if you use that, whales have more than the amount you could imagine. I have that amount you mentioned but I cannot move the market so take it from me. |

That would depend on the altcoins, if that coin is just a shit coin you will never win because mostly the one who can manipulate is only the developers, there are big altcoins and with you 5 BTC you cannot move the market of waves, DAO, LSK, and ETH. |

If you can't move 30k bitcoins you are a tiny whale and will not be able to really influence the price. Most manipulating is done on the chinese exchanges with btfinex. To manipulate the price you need to have your money/coins there and start pumping. |

If you can't move 30k bitcoins you are a tiny whale and will not be able to really influence the price. Most manipulating is done on the chinese exchanges with btfinex. To manipulate the price you need to have your money/coins there and start pumping. I don't think there is a thing called tiny whale in the industry, it should only be the whale or shale as the basic terms, but the point is you need to move the price to be considered you are holding a huge portion of the total distribution. |

yes , you can manipulate bitcoin price by dumping only if you have more than 10% of bitcoin , the recent manipulation of price by dump was because of Mike Hearn.

Yes and in fact in every market an entity who has control over high volume of that market can easily influence on that market. |
