If the question is directly to me then I would say no because I dont have the power to pump or dump the price, those who can manipulate the price are the exchanges, big holders because we are talking about millions to be dumped or pumped.

I do not have enough fire power to affect the price directly. But I hold most of my coins, that will indirectly increase the price.

Of course you have fire power, if you do not have fiat to increase the price all you have to do is spread the word and let others get involved. I'm always getting involved in conversations online with people who dont understand bitcoin. Spread the word my friend.

I know there are many big players who manipulate bitcoin price and make huge profits but can we the bitcointalk members also form a cartel and let bitcoin price never fall?is it possible that we manipulate price as I am sure most of bitcoin users visit this forum
Probably it is possible, but not for a long period of time, because there are also other btc users, who aren't bitcointalk members.

Maybe if a super rich man buys a millions of bitcoins. Im sure the price of bitcoins will rise drasticaly. Im not a rich person so i cant buy that much of bitcoins. If many people will buy bitcoins. When the demands of bitcoins are high. Definitely it will rise. People can manipulate bitcoin price.

That is the manipulation, buying is just normal in bitcoin and when big buy wall is there the price will increase as it is back with the law of supply and demand. It is only the whales has the possibility to manipulate the price now but it will still back up again because that is our interest to see the price rising.

Definitely true, the the law of supply and demands applies every time there is a big increase of the price of bitcoins, more people will buy means price will increase, if one can manipulate then that is very bad for the market as a whole. The price should be fair in order to grow successfully.

If the exchanges can manipulate prices daily using bots, then how can we really invest our trust in the price of Bitcoin? Cause it seems obvious that exchanges and other richer parties can easily manipulate the price by longing and shorting on a daily basis just for their benefit. Is this how even stock exchanges work?

Well, if the price of bitcoin can be manipulated, I think it would be easy for someone to do so. but I think it's really impossible, because it requires a huge amount of bitcoin to make the price to rise and fall with changes in the numbers mean, but it is impossible if done only with one person, because it is a job for hundreds of bitcoin holders

If you mean forum members then theoretically it is possible to have such manipulation if all members are together and can lead the market by expressing special comments for example in favor of increasing price but we know that such thing is not applicable.

Exchanges does not need to do that because they are already earning a bunch of service fee from the traders. It is there main objective to protect their reputation because that would attract new traders to come in to their site and to maximize their profit.

Yes, we can manipulate bitcoin price. Remind when the bitfinex was hacked, bitcoin's price dropped. If you have huge money, than you can manipulate bitcoin's price and yes, there are many big players who manipulate it and make a huge profit. And also the same thing is happening with dollar, big players control everything and thats bad for us.

That was not the manipulation, the price down a bit because of the hacking incident where some people are losing trust with bitcoins which was taken advantage by the whales of selling so the price falls back and the whales buy again. If there was no hack, one cannot drop the price of bitcoins.

If it is adopted by many people, the price will be higher.

I do not have enough fire power to affect the price directly. But I hold most of my coins, that will indirectly increase the price. most of the people dont though if a group of people decides to sell or buy their bitcoins then the price might be moved a lot to be honest
