if it is possible for us then we can do so but there are some senior traders who can only manipulate the bitcoin price .it is possible for us if we are a big holder under which so many number of comities hold .
but their effectiveness is now decreasing, because the number of bitcoin users are increasing through out the world therefore it is now becoming difficult to manipulate the price if bitcoin. and as time pass its becoming more and more difficult to manipulated the price of bitcoin | Agree.. Just a few months or years if the amount of the users will increased then the bitcoin supply will be well distributed and it will hard for whales to manipulate since there is a lot of demand in the market in terms of the volume of the users. I hope that scenario will come faster than what we wish because it will be good for us, regular bitcoin user because if there is not manipulation on the market then the price will be more stable. |

I know there are many big players who manipulate bitcoin price and make huge profits but can we the bitcointalk members also form a cartel and let bitcoin price never fall?is it possible that we manipulate price as I am sure most of bitcoin users visit this forum
No, we have no capacity to manipulate the price of bitcoin, as far as I know only the exchange sites can do that they hire bot to monitor to trade it 24/7, meaning they're the one who can manipulate the price value of bitcoin. |

The well distributed amount doesn't mean whale won't manipulate the bitcoin price. 1000 bitcoin distributed between 1000 persons can't bet 100 bitcoins in one person's hand, just an example. Few whales manipulate all the world, why would be hard to manipulate a currency? |

Why just big mining farms,I think even big exchanges, if they make a cartel, can manipulate the price of bitcoin for most of bitcoin come from them to general public
ie a very famous exchange sites. has a very large user. certainly exchange sites that can provide an effect on the price of bitcoin itself. The key in the number of users in bitcoin I think the other reason is because bitcoin is not spread evenly, the bitcoin hoarders also have an influence on the price of bitcoin, because bitcoin prices depending on the conditions of supply and demand. |

Basically to manipulate Bitcoin price we have to know how this price formed. I would like to know. Which factors depends on the price of Bitcoin. Let's know why Bitcoin cost today $916. And if we will discover which factors dictate the price today we can try change them. But as I know price of Bitcoin just set holders. So it's depend in which place you bought your BTC... If I have BTC 200(OMG I want) and I want sold them for 500 000 dollars. I will sell for this price. If have one Jimmy which wanna to buy BTC 200 and 500 000 dollars with Jimmy. So.... This reason why Bitcoin cost today more or less 916 bucks today. This fucking bucks. Because some exchange sold them for 915. Some for 914.
Rivalry is another way to form BTC price globally. All exchangers looking for neighbors exchangers to form their price. But if exchanger Tommy need today 1 000 000 fucking bucks asap. He will sold his BTC for $700. Neighbors need fucking $$$ also. Will put price down. Some neighbors is friends.. So...
To manipulate price of the BTC you have to be Tommy and put a lot of Tommy's into complot around of you.....
But as I said before I love BTC for freedom which this currency can give for us. Now all banking systems ask to put our money in their wallets. Banks make pyramids, control our money, move our money, lock our money and disrespect us
I am normal person and in BTC I can look really freedom of my money. Nobody don't control them. Just me and people around of me

News and updates can be use to manipulate price of Bitcoin. Of course to make the movement according to the news we need fundings both BTC and USD. So depends on the news, this two will be use. If there is an incoming badpress and we shorted in our trades, we can use the BTC and news to cause panic sell to people. The first sell always come from the manipulator. |

Not possible in order to do that we will need to pool all of our funds and then put someone on charge of trying to manipulate the price in our favor but as you can see the problem is you will need to trust that whoever gets the funds is not going to run away with them as soon as he gets his hands on the money. |

If some people or group merge their fund to some big giant money and buy bitcoin with that, I think it can be likely to be manipulated. For example, if Bill Gates or Microsoft buy bitcoin with all his money what do you think will happen with bitcoin prices? Yes it start raising when he buy. But it just temporary, because if he not waste his bitcoin and just hold it for a long time, bitcoin prices will drop. Why? Because it's not attractive anymore, and peoples trust on bitcoin start to disappeare.
So, you can manipulate bitcoin price with just dump or pump method if you have some big amount on your wallet.

Not possible in order to do that we will need to pool all of our funds and then put someone on charge of trying to manipulate the price in our favor but as you can see the problem is you will need to trust that whoever gets the funds is not going to run away wit them as soon as he gets his hands on the money. You cannot pull a successful manipulation if your fund is not that huge. In order to maximize the manipulation, you need to ride with the news. You cannot go against the news and development because these are the indication on the moral/belief of Bitcoin community. Like for example, if there is some Bad press released, exaggerating it would possibly shake holders into selling their BTC. Rumors spread faster than facts. So manipulator take advantage of that. |

I'm sure it could, the fact that supply is china can control the bitcoin. I think this is reasonable because the biggest hold bitcoin is china. There are about 30 exchanger from China, but I believe its owner no more than 3 peoples. Because they dominated, surely they could manipulate the bitcoin.

We really can't manipulate bitcoin's price because it's something that is automatically increasing and decreasing base on the supply and demand of it in the market. And if you wanted to do some manipulation you should be one of those people or group that holds a lot of it in able to contribute some movements of its price. |

We really can't manipulate bitcoin's price because it's something that is automatically increasing and decreasing base on the supply and demand of it in the market. And if you wanted to do some manipulation you should be one of those people or group that holds a lot of it in able to contribute some movements of its price. That is the basic way to determine the price movement, however, volume of demand could come from a group of people who are whales or holding a good volume of bitcoin, with that, they can create a fake demand which will increase the price and since that was just a manipulated demand, the price will eventually back to normal or could fall as some people loses some trust when the price is unstable or so volatile. Maybe in the near future when there's a close to equal distribution of bitcoin we can see that the price movement was due to legitimate demand of the majority. This is just my opinion since I really cannot confirm if this whales still has power to manipulate. |

I don't think that's possible. The thing is we can't trust each other and that's the main reason why we actually can't manipulate the Bitcoin price. If say we all agreed to not sell under $1,000 how can we controll that no one from us is breaking the agreement? |

No matter how many persons was buying bitcoins, that's still demand nonetheless. There would never be an equal distribution of bitcoin. The same thing with fiat, there would never be an equal distribution of fiat. I think you should read this article to realize that there would never be an equal distribution of wealth. And even if we get to do that, eventually, the wealth would not be evenly distributed because there would always be people spending more than others, and people earning much more than others. |

bitcoin see prices rising so fast, and then go down very quickly, making me think that it was possible to manipulate the price of bitcoin. but, it takes a lot bitcoin, as in bitcoin in an exchanger.
