Hi Team,

Any news on the POS tablets, when will you be able to start distributing them to merchants in Iceland?
Thanks.

The first batch of tablets was rejected by the Icelandic customs. Something to do with CE certification. New tablets are on the way.

very interesting project

is your government also providing a monthly average salary for its citizens? or is that another country?

Just wanted to give a quick update from the dev team.

The Hive and Insight servers have been migrated over to our new team hosting account as a first step in our server migration project.  DNS seeds and Electrum servers are next.  These will require a bit more work, as we'll need to update the seed addresses in the core code and push a new wallet release.  The Electrum servers are called by DNS name, so the Android app shouldn't need to be updated.

@Biomike has been working on code improvements with the core code, and he's been able to get an OSX build environment up and running so we can do OSX builds again.  Our previous build machine died on us, and we neglected to get back to building OSX until now.  The DMG, which includes the initial loading speed fix, can be found in the release page here:

https://github.com/aurarad/Auroracoin/releases/tag/2017.02.1.0

If you have any questions, feel free to let us know.

The https://isx.is/ exchange has resumed trading Auroracoin. The exchange is getting ready to trade Bitcoin, but we will wait and see what happens with Bitcoin's forking issues before opening for trading.

Eru einhverjar áætlanir um að bæta við BCC á isx.is ef bitcoin fork-ar ? Smiley

Will BCC be added to isx.is if bitcoin forks ?

Russian guy hacked and used my account and put stupid DAV logo as my profile pic, also got me -1 negative trust feedback.

Here is an update from the developer side (I hope to publish these a bit more often).

Server migrations
As we mentioned earlier we’re in the process of moving infrastructure servers (e.g. seeds and electrum servers) to a foundation hosted account. This allows more developers to help if issues surface with one of them or if the developer maintaining the server is on holiday. The current state is that we’re in the process of setting up the first few seed servers.

Core wallet developments
When the seeds are moved to the new servers a new core wallet will be released with the new seeds encoded in it. We will also add a few new checkpoints for the block chain. In the development branch we’ve started removing all occurrences of default namespaces. While many developers add them for more compact code, it makes it less readable to outsiders and more difficult to maintain. It also increases chances of introducing errors, that’s why we’re removing them.

Project P
We decided to keep details of this project to our selves, as it is currently in a prototype stage and could potentially fail. We don’t want to be responsible for false expectations by people if the project fails. A few weeks ago the foundation was contacted by a third party from Reykjavik. They had a simple idea and asked if we could build a prototype. The main challenge for us is allowing the device to receive payments in Auroracoin. We’ve started writing the software that runs on the chip driving the device, to use the electrum interface to detect payments. Part of this project already resulted in contribution of improvements into the connectrum library (https://github.com/coinkite/connectrum). Even if this project will not be successful, we could reuse a large part of the code for future upcoming projects.

Got high hopes for these country coins.. we just need merchants with "pay with any of these coins" and crypto debit cards to swipe.

Iceland could really lead the way here.

plastic cards... how outdated... have you already tried the waggle feature in the Hive wallet?... or the QR code scanning?

It's more of a metaphor for practical adoption and usability in the physical world, but touche ;-)

Hello! Tell me, what could be the reason?
When solo mining, the miner gives an error and does not take a share
