I can get behind a project like that, y'know what I'm saying? For some reason, it feels more "honest" and "real" than the others, ya dig?

Just happy to see an active dev.  It's not great to see AU de-listed from BITTREX, but compared to MANY other alts, AUR is still looking very good.

Keep up the good work devs!!

True, AUR didn’t pump at all after delisting, it kept on dumping. I hope, we will see a final huge pump

I think you mustve seen that there was a bit of a pump on Bittrex at the end.  Actually showed up on the top gain spot for a while, and ended its final day up 25%.

Now a few days later the price has rebounded almost a hundred percent to 20 cents.

Feeling hopeful concerning the general Auroracoin meetup tomorrow night to get some fresh team members on board and continue some of the work I have done with listing merchants on https://auroracoin101.is

As someone who has been an Auroracoin enthusiast since February 2014, I have to say I was a little surprised to read that the foundation had liquidated 80% of their AUR holdings.

I believed in the Auroracoin idea in part because I thought Iceland was the ideal laboratory for this experiment: a geographically small, isolated region, with a technologically advanced populace with a long history of currency debasement and an extraordinary stockmarket crash due to banker machinations during the 2008 crisis.

But I look at projects like Byteball, who have over 200 retailers accepting their currency in Milan, Italy and Bunz, also with hundreds of shops in Canada accepting their token, and I wonder why adoption of AUR has been glacially slow in Iceland.

Its too bad some of the foundation funds weren't used over the past 3 years to fund development and adoption. Maybe the story would have been different, or maybe not. Maybe Iceland is not the ideal laboratory for this type of experiment after all.

I also was curious about the decision to liquidate 80% of the funds.  However, seeing how the foundation vertically grew into the Icelandic Blockchain Foundation and hired a full-time director to manage the group, it is apparent that it was a positive move in the right direction.

Before the IBF, auroracoin had a perception problem concerning its slow movement and lackluster support within Iceland.

However this move has brought much needed legitimacy to auroracoin by decoupling the foundations focus on auroracoin alone from blockchain technology in general.

This coin agnostic approach has given the foundation, and auroracoin in return, a more objective perception and allowed those hesitant towards auroracoin a fresh perspective.

Right now the focus is on the general auroracoin meetup tomorrow night, Oct 24th, where we can now plan on continued auroracoin growth within the IBF.

In regards to merchant adoption, there has still been a need to build up the team to present a stronger support network for continued adoption.

When we have this momentum going I strongly believe that the remaining coins will have stronger intrinsic value under this much larger IBF umbrella.

Are european citizens allowed to register on https://isx.is? is there any English page there? I can't read iclandic.

No, ISX requires a digitial identity provided through the governement and local banks to register.

It is the reason ISX has been AML and KYC compliant and obtained official registration status with the Financial regulative authorities.

Right now Cryptopia, Yobit, and NovaExchange are available to pick up auroracoins for bitcoin and others.

See https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/auroracoin/#markets

The general Auroracoin meetup we are having tomorrow night is the first Auroracoin meeting since we have become a working group under the IBF umbrella.

All of the issues that have been brought up on this board and others, in addition to merchant adoption, general public adoption, and technological direction will be addressed.

Thanks for your continued interest.  The coin fundamentals are relatively strong and it's use-case as a cryptocurrency within Iceland is as valid as ever, if not much more apparent.

Because it was not foundation holdings! They have burnt unclaimed public air-drop, what has been promised before.

That is different. Baldur burnt the unclaimed coins but also transferred 1,000,000 coins to the foundation for development of Auroracoin.

The Emblemvault will be a AUR/500+ pairings exchange, running atomicswaps https://blog.goodaudience.com/the-king-of-atomic-swaps-c9becff072aa you can store any crypto in an Emblem and not sell it but store on a normal (encrypted) USB stick or (any $0.50) NFC card. Emblem is Bitcoin blockchain based, so you can store on hardware wallets like Ledger/Trezor.

That is different. Baldur burnt the unclaimed coins but also transferred 1,000,000 coins to the foundation for development of Auroracoin.

Well, I also was a bit surprised by the decision of the Aurarad foundation to sell off 80% of the M1 fund. But I also remember the true nature of Balduro's vision, being adoption of crypto in Iceland. He developed Auroracoin for that purpose, but not as a single means. He initially transferred the M1 fund to an Icelandic trustee with a final request to use it to further promote crypto in Iceland, if possible with Auroacoin, but also in different ways.

The move was bold, I agree, but I stand behind it 100%, because it's the right move.

I'm looking forward to renewed development of Auroracoin in the future, especially now that we finally have a solid ground (IBF) to build on (with).

We will release a more official statement on things (including the "maybe temporary" delisting from Bittrex) soon.

A fool will just look at the finger, even if it points to paradise!

I follow some coins that I like and Invested a lot to them. (btc ltc stellar dash doge 42 verge and more)  I do follow auroracoin from the beginning and it's sad to see  that the coin is going to the bottom. For me this is because is no team behind this coin right now. No developers too. If they do exist they are sleeping or the don't know about cryptocurrency) .. Iceland needs a new crypto-coin with a strong team behind, thank you
