Hey, do you know if they used the same BM1387 chip for the (i) version?
If yes, is it just a PCB design rework??

From what I can tell, the control board uses different software versions. The PCB design are identical. However, the S9i have different settings than the S9 with a MUCH lower voltage target per board.

Maybe a silly question, but does anybody know which fan (front or rear) is supposed to be on the board outside connector?
I cleaned all my miners, and they are different assembled.I know the fans are different, so it should be specific one on front and one for backside fan.

Anyone?

It doesnt matter which one is front/rear, as long you put the correct air flow position (the air one in and one out).

haha, you see, I have special hardware that identifies broken chip in the chain. I need to check if it works with S9(i) version.
It communicates via serial interface through the 18-port wire that runs from controller board, but I am not sure if different voltage will make my device unusable... hope it won't...

I have that too, pretty damn expensive

U sure this is correct? That is 7% more power for about 4% more hashrate?

Selling 100 dollar coupons (8units expire 11th June, 14 units expire 1st july) and 125 dollar coupon (2 unit exp 30th June). Selling at 20% of value

1. How much did you pay for it? (if you don't mind Wink )
2. Have you checked it on S9(i)? I just bought one to be delivered in June, have to check if it works or not...
I really would not like to buy miners that I cannot fully test/repair myself... I think you have similar thoughts.

So say you've identified a faulty chip. Can you locate it physically, and then do you just replace that chip with any other chip from a replacement board or they are all individually assigned for each slot?

No assignment my dude, which made me very happy.
Just replace with the fresh one, or with the one unsoldered from another board.
But you know sometimes you also have to check voltage values of the other board components, because sometimes other components break too.

Ah thanks. How much is this hardware and where can you buy it from? ANd do you get the boards of ebay or another source?

Also you need a rework station to unsolder and resolder chips onto the s9. Machines can be gotten for under 5k used.

Time for the S11+mini!!

maybe .

I really hope they go lower watts with it.

I have space I do not have a ton of cheap power available

I would like to use a piece of gear that does 800 watts and mines 12000 th

that would be 0.0667 watts a gh

most likely it will use 1300 watts and do 18th which is  0.0722 watts a gh.

the t1 does 14.2 th at 1300 watts which is 0.0915 watts

I swear it is extremely easy to do with tweezers

Tweezers doesn't heat solder and resolder the balls back on...

It has been a long time since I manually setup any miner.
Does S9 allow direct access through ethernet cable and 192.168.1.99 IP address like S1 and S3 did?
If yes, then it does not work for me.
Accidentally, which setting do you put for laptop IP and router IP in case if it should work still?
I put
192.168.1.1 for laptop and
192.168.0.1 for router (or should it be 192.168.1.0 for router?)

I have a particular reason to try this, I am well aware that if you connect S9 to the internet, it would situate itself just fine on DHCP.

Thanks.

The s9 default is using DHCP so you will need to look at the router for the address. Once in you can then set it to a static address. Routers generally use either the first address (.1) or the last one .254, at home mine is .254 while at work it is .1

Ideally both the router and laptop should be on the same subnet.
