Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?
No this won't happen because bitcoin is already famous world wide and millions of people is using this coin. If it has to be replaced by other coin then only way is there That is to launch another coin and wait till that coin gets famous like bitcoin. I think so. The bitcoin is the most popular digital coin now. If there is no big bug in the development, it will stiil be the number one coin. The popularity of bitcoin is limited to digital world, not everyone knows about bitcoin but when it comes to crypto currency I think bitcoin is the best and it has no competition around. For the time being, it has no competition. But in the future, it will have some competion. Examples are the Ethereum and Monero. There will be no competition because they are created with a unique features and people who supported eth may not support monero, one thing for use we will have a variety of choices in the future that can give us more convenience for online transactions. |

I don't think so, since btc is an open source and everyone can contribute, I don't think there will be anything that will surpass the btc.

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.

I do not know in future but it may happen I am not sure. At present in cryptocurrency world, btc is the leader for all coins. Yes there are many cryptocurrencies there, but no one can touch the Bitcoin price. And the usage of Bitcoin is very easy. All gamblers are like to use this Bitcoin for betting. So I think now no other currency will replace Bitcoin.

correctly . bitcoin is the initiator of the first digital currency. bitcoin strength has been recognized by various parties that are in the world financial system. I think it would block the appearance of bitcoin is BitcoinX. |

If no one use bitcoin again or the price of bitcoin dropped really low to $10, maybe bitcoin can be replaced to another cryptocurrency that have higher price than bitcoin.

Like it or not, Bitcoin has a longer life expectancy than all of us. It will outlive us, and will be 100+ years old. It is impossible that an advancement in physics is found to be able to deliver Bitcoin's PoW + network effect, its just not going to happen. Bitcoin will live forever through upgrades and sidechains.

Bitcoin could be replaced by another cryptocurrency if another one does it better it's that simple.
Just like google copies alot of idea's but just improves them so much that they become the mainstream. Who knows what will happen if there's alot of bitcoin hacking going around maybe another currency will be more safe.

Theres no guarantee that bitcoin would last forever and theres also a possibility that it would replaced by other coin but as of now we could see that bitcoin is soo strong and too far away from those alts that are newly created but we still dont know what would be the future. |

May or May not because if a cryptocurrency wanted to replace the bitcoin, first of all it should be used by that much people and big companies. And also alternate crypto are mostly not a big projects and these are easily can be pumped and dumped unlike btc. Im still doubt about few coins now ETH may like LTC. Its also not gona bring big whales. |

Yes it would and cannot be replaced. We all knew that bitcoin is the base of all other crypto currencies that are on the market right now. It is the father of every altcoin as it is the first one and it is the most popular. I also think that some altcoin will not surpass it. Yeah, still possibke but as of this time it is not. Maybe we just have to wait for a century for it to happen. |
