I doubt this is happening anytime soon at least with the alt-coins that are available now, The most promising would be ETH but it's way too new to consider the possibility of it taking bitcoin place, LTC doesn't offer more than regular bitcoins imo.

No bitcoin can't be replaced but other coin could surpass the height of bitcoin but I don't think that will ever happer, yes possible after a century. You just need to put your rational imagination to think why so
Even for a century no other coin can surpass bitcoin. A fall of bitcoin is a fall of all cryptocurrency. Who will have a guts now to invest in other crypto where a succesful coin like bitcoin still suffers a downfall even with lots of active services worldwide and decent number of users.

I have to agree that is can not be replaced with another currency, but other currencies out there may come close to perfecting the issues which are plagued by bitcoin at this time. Now if for some reason, all of the governments in the world agree that bitcoin should become a currency, then bitcoin may need to be revamped for the general satoshi would be worth to much to break down any further, unless there is a way to do this in the programing.

I don't think so, since btc is an open source and everyone can contribute, I don't think there will be anything that will surpass the btc.
Even if it is opensource imagine google reproducing a cryptocurrency. Google has so many resources and so much money that they would take over for sure. Bitcoin is hard to surpass right now by an alt coin but if a big company like google starts to stir in then there's real competition which is hard to deny.

For some new kind of another cryptocurrency to come along that can do the same to bitcoin it would have to be so advanced that we cannot imagine it today.

Bitcoin can not be replaced by any cryptocurrency. There were so many claims by many alternative coins which were created on slogan to replace Bitcoin and now I don't even find them. Bitcoin is sign of trust and whole cryptoland is revolving around Bitcoin. Bitcoin will be used as standard for digital currencies which will be used in future too. Bitcoin will rule like king always.

Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?
Bitcoin definitely is the king here and nothing is going to replace it but their are some nice cryptos and coins coming up which seems to have good future due to their innovative concept.ICONOMI and antshares are two of them

Yeah i agree . Nothing is impossible in the future so we cant predict whether the bitcoin will stay and be famous in the future or the bitcoin will die or replaced by the other crypto. So lets be ready on what will happen and not expect too much about it.

In the short term, there is no danger of bitcoin to be replaced by another coin. But in the long term, it could be replaced by Ethereum or Monero.

Bitcoin has too much of a head start on other coins to be overtaken anytime soon.A percentage of the public have some perception of bitcoin but ETH and other coins are relatively unknown outside crypto fans and users. That is not to say some new coin in the future with some killer feature or branding that becomes wildly popular could eclipse it and take over.

For now, bitcoin will be king. In the future, i think there will be other currencies a strong as bitcoin, but bitcoin will still be used as a pivot currency. Like how they use USD as a pivot currency in fiat markets.

Bitcoin will possible be replaced by another currency only if another currency has better offers or benefits cause right now theres no reason to step over. Especially because now bitcoin already gained publicity and has most potential to grow.

it's really possible in the future that some another cryptocurrency could even replace bitcoin it's just depend on how techonologies are getting developed years by years,as you see so many altcoin now offering so many features and unique features always getting developed,it's just matter about the time but i think it's still far away for another cryptocurrency to take over bitcoin place

The only accurate thing to happen when bitcoin reached it's crashed status, most of the alts will suffer it too. Remember that bitcoin today is already used by most of the countries and such services. No way other alts can do what bitcoin achieved if ever bitcoin will crashed. A crash of bitcoin will just result for a thinking that cryptos never last for a decades.
