Not everything the media reports. I have seen contradictions and proven that they are no long reliable as they twist some of the news in order to support whoever they want. I do my own research instead.

No media can be trusted. Journalism can not be entirely trusted. That there is "independence" aka "freedom of side". Whichever side is on the side, depending on the "ideology" of the media owner and the "level of faith"

news are written by people (obviously) and every single individual or group of persons has their own opinion about a specific thing. It would be difficult to write an article without expressing that opinion or at least give a hint to what you expect. From the other side, there are people who intentionally want to spread a specific believe or rumor to influence the outcome of a specific event (see the 2017 US elections for example). There is no automated way to write news, but there are certain rules that should be followed, especially from big networks who have a wide coverage that is reaching a lot of people. Such "rules" are honesty, and indifference (not supporting a specific positions). What media have to do it report the true events, anything beyong that is just fake news. Even with blockchain, when it's implemented, it might improve a couple of things but articles will still be written by people, which brings us back to the original problem.

I have not believed anyone for a long time. It seems to me that the media are telling us the news that benefits the government. But the media must be independent of the government and of money

Most do not. The more you watch the news the less you know the real information.

News can be true but provided only from one point of view. It's important to be critical and receive information from different channels.

To a point, though they rarely seem objective. All sensationalized and tendentious headlines and content.

I especially don't believe the comments on r/worldnews

Or do you think media is independent ?

I don't think so. Some media are being controlled by the government. Based from my experience watching the new. There are time when they exaggerate a bit to make the news sound or look more inviting to people. It's the audience they are after, most of the times.

I dont always believe the news thats coming from our local news station brcause it is biased on the previous administration and all the news they play is all about the negative effects of the current government administration. Btw im from Philippines where every polititians are corrupt. It isnt independent because it is owned by the aquino.

I dont actually believe in the news cause some of them in the social are paid to be edited. Some of the media are paid by the government to fake the news and also political benifits. Thats why we need to confirm if the news is legit or not , news is really important because we all know that it is one o the main sources of our information.
