Yes. I think the news helps us to be aware of our surrounding and situation from another place/country and to be informed if there are some announcements from the Government and such.

I do not believe to all the news, because some of them are just to cover up. Though there are news that will tell you the truth, but some are being manipulated, and they are just picking the reports that they wanna show on TV. |

The advantage we have now is that so many news outlets are available. If you don't like the news from the mainstream media (such as CNN, BBC, MSNBC.etc), you always have the option of listening to the news from the social media. Take my case. Twitter is the single most important news source for me, as it is not under much censorship unlike Facebook.

Here in our country, Media control the minds of people, who to hate and to like. But before, when we have a strict president who declared marshal law, the media are controlled by the government, they will only show what the government wants them to show to people. They are not allowed to show bad news, killing, bad events or terrorism, the government hide it from us so we won't see the bad happenings here in our country. How can I believe in that news if they only show us the good side, and they hide the badnews. |

News can be seen or heard thru television or radio, for like me that so far to the cities and not to close to the society I don't always believe to the news exposed by media. But at the end of the day, people are now very well educated and cultivated on what is happening to our society because of the new fruit of technology like independent social media and facebook. On the other hand people are the one who judge what is right and wrong and cannot be dictated by the media by giving us fake news.

There are times that I don’t believe in the news anymore. I mean they tend to exagerate things. Especially in my country, the news shown on TV are not what truly happened. It’s like, they bend the truth. |
