If you mean mainstream media then yes it's centrally controlled and can be very biased. If the News is covering some US Military incursion then they can result to propaganda. I don't really watch news anymore as I stopped buying televisions years ago. I got tired of all the flashing colors in my face and the fake food and medication commercials. I used to believe in the news a lot but not as I used to, the US election last year has me questioning the truth of every news that being being peddled by most television stations nowadays because they are all telling their version of the truth which makes it hard to find the real truth.

But I remember when I saw the Iraq war in television where they said that Saddam Hussein has chemical weappons that he could use against Europe. Later they confirmed that it was lie.
