whether because coins are controlled by the developer?

Elementrem is scheduled for a major update to POW 2.0.
POW 2.0 (Mining mathematical formula, Block target time, Block reward are re-adjusted) will be accompanied by a hard fork, and wallet,Smart Contract will also be updated.
As announced in the official blog and thread, `POW 2.0 or POS` is scheduled for approximately 2.8 million blocks. But we have decided to accelerate the time.
More information will be released with an extensive source code update scheduled for April.

It's really dead coin . I did not see any power from this project and No investor wants to buy it because a huge amount of pre-mined coins from DEV.
