The pollution and deforestation is just the syndrome. You are forgetting the root cause. The real reason for all this is the population explosion around the world, especially in the third world nations. If the population growth is minimal, then there will be lower levels of deforestation and pollution. For example, the pollution levels are minimal in the developed nations, where the population is stable.

Well even if the populatio decreases, if the people left are selfish, closed minded individuals, it's the same. We should change how people perceive what's going on and make them realize the urgency of our situation. Planting trees in your neighborhood can be a good practice, but how much effective can that be? A much better option would be to prevent the deforestation of tropical forests. Millions of acres of rain-forest are being cut down every year, especially in countries such as Congo, Indonesia and Brazil. Planting a few trees here and there will not neutralize this damage.

We all wants to save our lovely planet but nobody wants to take action. its a typical human behavior, we all care when its too late, though I'm not generalizing all people, there will always be an exception, there are still people who wants to save our planet and they're doing their very best to do so.

Yes, We need save our planet/home by planting the trees, not destroy the trees, the sea do not pollute them by chemicals. Plant more trees and don't throw any garbage in water.
