Hey everyone, I am somewhat new to bitcoin.  I have been mining for about a week now and have been following posts and news in general for a few weeks.  I find the crypto-currency phenomenon to be fascinating and am having fun experimenting with it!

I am here, introducing myself, even though I've been on the forums for two years now. So I lurk, is that such a crime? I couldn't have been grandfathered?

Bitcoins! Yay! Bubble? Boo!

I feel like I should be saying something important, but really, who's going to read this?

Every one reads this what were you thinking?

Thank me in Bits 12MwnzxtprG2mHm3rKdgi7NmJKCypsMMQw

Hi, I'm Wenter. I've known bitcoin for about a year already, but I didn't buy any (which I now really regret). I operate a (very small) Litecoin mining rig with a friend of mine. Now it's just about making enough posts to get access to the other sections Cheesy

I'm an ex Cadence design systems engineer, just thought i would post this here. I don't understand what the fuss is about
developing a SHA 256 ASIC and why many more have not already done it.

ASIC design IP for SHA 256

Good start is to download the chip estimate software developed by Cadence.
http://www.chipestimate.com/  lookup SHA 256

http://www.chipestimate.com/ip.php?256-bit+SHA+Cryptoprocessor+Core&id=14006
This looked good the TSMC core is also available that many are working with.
We use Cadence and Altium electronic CAD, here ready for hire!!!

Thanks

Hey guys,

New miner here. Wish I would've started mining a long time ago when I first heard of bitcoin, but c'est la vie.

I started 2 weekd ago with one 7970 mining BTC. I got the bug and now have 7x 7970s and a 7950 mining LTC full time. Started mining solo to try that out this morning, and mined a block about 4 hours in!  Grin I know that was pure luck, but I'm going to give solo a few days to see what's up.

Time to go read some more info about this fascinating crypto world!

Hey! Been on the bitcoin subreddit for awhile but want to learn more. I knew about BTC a few years back and considered buying a little bit but never did. Life goes on. After doing some real research on what BTC is, I'm more and more behind it. I'm currently playing around with a small bit of change.. but it has been fun and new and I figured the best thing to do right now is learn as much as possible.

Hello everyone, just a gamer/pc enthusiast trying to make a few bucks out of his expensive hardware... Bitinstant is currently the bane to that though, going to plug the thread where I ask for help on that in case someone here knows what's going on. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170913.msg1777312#msg1777312.

Anyone else interested in non-BTC type coins i.e. LTC PPC etc?

Just introducing myself here.  I just started mining on Eligius a little over a week ago,  made my first bitcoin.

My name is Jay,  and I mine with 2x6990's and 2x6870's with cgminer giving me a reported hasrate of 2.3GH/s +.  I have a new Powercolor 7970 in the mail,  cant wait.  cheers....

I don't expect that to happen. Central banks won't use it as a reserve currency.
A certain crypto-currency will, in the end, emerge as an alternative to other money.

However, beware:
* that may not be Bitcoin (though I'd like to see that happening)
* currently, much of the Bitcoin participants are looking at it from an investment standpoint of view. In other words: BTC is being treated as commodity, NOT as money. The "moneyness" of BTC is not there yet. (Surely, I will now be inducing some outrage amoung BTC-"believers")

Take care,
Willy
