Hi!

I´m new here. I think bitcoin is an interesting concept, and about six months ago I decided to stop observing and participate by mining for fun and... well, not that much profit.

I have been lurking on bitcointalk for a while now, but need an account to contact some of the bondissuers from GLBSE.

There! Only three more posts to go...  Smiley

Hello! I've been using Bitcoin for more than a year now but just now decided to stop lurking here and perhaps get a little more involved.

I'm fascinated by Bitcoin and its mission. I have a phrase: "if revolution is sexy, making government irrelevant is sexier." Bitcoin, to me, works toward that sexier future.

What have I done to further Bitcoin? Aside from the standards of mining, buying, and spending it, I've explained it to dozens of people and gotten a bunch interested. I'm an Esperantist, and I've translated some things such as a prominent mining pool's site and a prominent mining program, as well as some other open source programs. Most recently, I've been digging into the Satoshi client to improve its Mac side and getting involved in the Bitcoin Stack Exchange.

I look forward to building the future of value exchange with all of you!

Hey everyone,

I became interested in bitcoin about a month ago and recently started GPU mining.  I know it's a bad time to start a GPU rig but I think the whole concept of bitcoin is pretty amazing so right now I'm running a 3x5830/1x5850 rig on a relatively old computer I wasn't really using anyway.  Either way... hey again. :p

Since my Whitelist-Requests were ignored, let's play the introduction game then.

My name is Adrian. I am a person, and you can find out pretty much everything about me on my website bitaurum.eu.

Since I hate contentless spam, here's a bit of trivia about bitaurum:

Did you know that it is a play on words?
I wanted to start selling gold on my site, chemical element named aurum after the latin word. Also, taurus means bull, and taurum is the 4th case declination of that word. leaves you with the bi-prefix, which, incidentally, means two Tongue
(although I have to admit that, to make sense, you have to bend the rules of grammar - but everyone seems to do so, nowadays)

More from the non-spam trivia-fun-facts-section of my not-so heroic first moments in this forum (you made me do it):

Did you know that the single most damaging organism to the earth's atmosphere within the last 100 years was called Thomas Midgley, Jr. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Midgley,_Jr.)? Not only did he invent and promote the use of Tetraethyl-Lead as an octane booster for "leaded" fuel, he also invented freon, which is still responsible for the destruction of the ozone layer and will be until 2100.
He died after entangling and strangulating himself in a rope-based device that was supposed to help him move about, since he was disabled after conducting polio some years before his death in 1944 (age 55).

He was a celebrated and much respected chemist at his time, since the malevolent side-effects of his inventions were only discovered decades after his death.

More from the non-spam trivia-fun-facts-section of my not-so heroic first moments in this forum (you made me do it):

Did you know that the ETH Zurich is using their Cluster to mine (http://blockchain.info/blocks/82.130.102.160)? Also, they are quite good at it. Still, what's more important (considering 20.000+ years of evolution towards what we are now) - simulating a better design for a Stellator-based Hydrogen-Plasma Fusion Reactor, or earning $$$?
(Guess they just don't want to waste idle cores. Still - I believe universities should be stopped from acting on commercial interests. It dilutes good ideas with "stuff that sells". Trust me, been there, getting paid from it.)

So much about my trivia section. Now I will read about what the bitcoin-community believes is worth a post in the biggest archive of humanity. For 2 hours and 39 minutes.
