Have you found the button that says "I understand that I will initially be unable to post to most forum sections"? You must have, since you had to click it to register. Wink

Quote from: The Rules
RESTRICTIONS FOR NEW MEMBERS

After registering, you will be unable to post in any section except "newbies" until you have spent some time on the forum and have published a few posts.

If you are registering to ask a question, please ask it in the newbies section. Do not wait to ask it just because you must post it in "newbies": the question is very likely to have already been asked. If you don't end up getting good responses, you can ask it again elsewhere after you are established, or you can move the entire topic.

If you are commenting on Bitcoin, use your newbie wait time to read more about Bitcoin. If you are criticizing Bitcoin, find similar criticism using the search tool to see which points have already been covered. A good use of your newbie wait time is reading Satoshi's old posts.

Hi All,

I've been following bitcoins for a couple months now and i recently just joined the forum not too long ago to see what its all about. I came here to learn about the community and to build a business around it. anyone with any ideas send me over a pm so we can bounce around ideas. I made a post the other day under the thread for bitcoin business, i'll paste it here for anyone interested. nice meeting everyone!

My name is Ken, my goal is to start a business in the bitcoin space but still not sure where exactly to start at, here is what i do.

-CEO of a large Affiliate Marketing network
-Been involved in the computing world for 10 years
-Hold 3 Degrees, Bachelor in IT, Master in MIS, and an MBA.
-Live in Florida
-25 years old

What am I looking for?

1) A business to invest in.

or

2) A partner to start a new business (would prefer to partner with a seasoned developer, since I do not code)

Nice to meet everyone!

Looking forward to hearing what is out there

You cannot post in other threads until you have sufficient time logged in to the forum and a couple posts here in the Newbies section.

While I am new to these forums, I've lurked them for years. I'm regularly found on sealswithclubs, have contributed to a few bitcoin projects on github (https://github.com/bbqsamich), and am always doing my best to promote bitcoin on google+ (I'm part of the largest bitcoin community there as well), feel free to look me up on there: https://kevinpeno.com (short url for my G+ profile).

Hey all, I'll introduce myself ... cosmicone is a handle I brought back from the nineties when I ran a BBS in Calgary, Alberta... these forums (which is my guilty reading pleasure), has so much drama, I thought I would go back and dig up a handle from what was for me the height of online drama... BBS chat rooms.

As a programmer, I am always interested in the backend sides of things, not the GUI, I've mined BC for awhile, and really just treat it like a hobby.

Yesterday I decided to open an account on the forums after months of lurking... main reason was so that I could get a Show unread posts since last visit link, since there are so many interesting threads on here, I don't want to miss any.

So... drama away... I might post from time to time, but I since I don't know anyone I can't really join in the fun.  I'll just lurk from the shadows.

Hi,

I'm Mike from the USA, and I am really excited by the BitCoin idea and implementation.

I am a programmer, and I love computer games, both to play and to make.

Hello world,

I am also a programmer. I knew absolutely nothing about bitcoin 3 months ago. Now I trade actively every day at Bitfloor.

I wrote this web-based trade facilitator tool that anybody can use for free: http://btc4me.com

Does anybody trade at Bitfloor?

I know that since they were robbed back in Aug not many people have been trading there so it's been a really fun place for me to learn because their market price can fluctuate wildy sometimes because the volume has been so low.. but that has worked in my favor mostly. Today was especially wild and I made about $20 in 15 minutes when the market flew up and down by nearly $1 .. people must have heard what was going on because a lot of volume showed up on the book since then and the market has stabilized. But it was exciting this morning. Smiley

I haven't even checked out Mt Gox yet.. which is where I'm guessing most of you probably trade at.

Oh.. my name is Jay

Hi everyone, It's like 1995 all over again for me, when I just realized there's this thing called the internet.  hardly had any sleep after i found out about Tor and btc. So here I am reading through most of the FAQ/walkthroughs, and they are so helpful.!!

I'm not very good with coding or anything, you can say I'm an amateur.

My first few question since this is the only place I can post.

With GT450 OC, and I am receiving 2 Stale/invalid and 45Mhash/s, (45 is good?)

I am not planning to make this as a career, so I am running the guiminer while i'm surfing the web, (as we speak) and I only have a Pentium D dual core, and GT450

what is Share accepted? is this my share, or will it be divided with everyone? I try to find it with wiki but no solid answer.

I read it somewhere about, its a good standing about having 1/stale. So what about 2?

and also it said that the time frame is 24/hrs? so what happens if I shut down in the middle?
