hey karl, i'm gong to thailand in a few months.. you know some people I could do some face to face bitcoin/bath transactions with.. ?  atm is expensive in thailand I red somewhere..

regards

Hi bro,

I don't know anybody in thailand that use Bitcoin. I've checked there are few guys in localbitcoins.com, have a look.

The withdrawal fees is as expensive as every country when you travel. Not a big deal if you withdraw the maximum you can each time.

Where are you going in thailand?

Hi all,

I am a new Bitcoin user. I am very interested in the security aspects of the protocol. Toward that end, I hope to contribute some useful security tool(s). My first project, currently in the works, is an easy and secure way to share private keys/wallets using a secret sharing scheme, such as Shamir's.

Hello, I have been lurking for a while and I thought it was time to make an account Smiley I hope to become an active member in the bitcoin community and I would like to build a good reputation.

FAP Turbo 2.0, the FOREX trading robot which also trades bitcoin!

I had to link it because I love the name. Seriously, that is the real name.

Howdy, I'm an investment banker, financial planner, and venture capitalist. I actually was following the bitcoin community a few years ago but left when it looked to me as though there was no hope (boy, do I feel stupid now, I'd have quite a bit of money). In the past month or so, I've noticed that the community and mechanism has gotten a lot stronger and I want to get back into the game. Particularly, I have spent most of my time studying the markets and the mining operations. I'm hoping to get together people to invest, as well as provide my services to companies for financial reporting/business development (primarily in the areas of mergers & acquisitions, IPOs, etc)

It's good to be back.

I am Brian. I am a computer programmer/systems administrator. I am interested in Bitcoin because I see Credit Cards as being rather insecure and there doesn't appear to be any real push to solve these security issues. When they do introduce new security features (e.g. chip on card) they stuff up the protocols (e.g. http://krebsonsecurity.com/2012/09/researchers-chip-and-pin-enables-chip-and-skim/) and do it in addition to existing protocols (e.g. magnetic strips) and as such the security issues remain. Not to mention hidden transaction fees that vendors have to pay and the consumer isn't told how much it is.

As such I am looking at alternatives. e.g. bitcoin.

Unfortunately, there seems to be very little I can currently do with bitcoin from Australia at the moment, except transfer to to/from AUD (with up to 10% charge on the transaction).

bitmit looked very hopeful, but unfortunately it appears bitmit is being run by somebody with poor communication skills which is leading to poor credibility. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=41592.440

Silk Road apparently sells more then just drugs, however its reputation is very much around selling drugs, and as such this is not something I want to be part of.

There is also http://ozbtc.com.au/ - doesn't seem very popular.

Hey, I came here cuz I just found out about bitcoin and love the idea of cryptocurrency. This forum seems to be full of great resources and in the future I plan on using the marketplace to earn some bitcoin which I can spend on bitmit.

Hey guys,

I am an IT (security and networking) student 1 year off finishing my course.

I have in the past looked into bit mining as a way to make a bit of cash but never had any money to invest to begin with. With the announcement of butterfly labs asic miners my interest was renewed. (now just waiting for all the delays in production to be over lol).

As well as that I am a movie and TV show fan so hoping to get out of the newbie section so I can buy a pass the popcorn invite off one of the guys here Smiley.

Hi,

I'm Braincraze - I live behind a name, due to a few person experiences that went wrong.

I've recently come out of a very long relationship (I know right, a nerd with a girlfriend - whaaaaaaaaaat! ^_^)

Not really much I can write about myself. I hate doing it. Smiley

So hello.

And I think BTC is awesome and will no doubt take off.

What I am not sure is what are all the other coins?
LTC, NMC, PPC, TRC etc..

If coins they are then whats the point if we have BTC?
