Hello. I am an ex software developer from Canada, I often drink in the park now.

My hobbies include collecting precious metals and computer security. I find bitcoins both fascinating and profitable.

Looking forward to joining the community. This newbie jail sucks.

Smiley  Just signed up to check things out. I also have a review to post once I get past the newbie status. I'm already fairly familiar with Bitcoins.

Cheers!

I installed the bitcoin client back in 2011 and then forgot about it. I rediscovered bitcoin earlier this month and got really interested. I managed to get lucky and generate the vanity address 1timANDoUGAzz8f54VdMgThWVLgi9Qx3e. Unfortunately, it's incorrectly capitalised, but I decided it's not worth the extra 2 months to generate a new one.

Cheers, I'm glad to meet you all.

I'm of the belief that the more word gets out about bitcoin, the better.
Everyone has something to offer in an economy, whether it's goods and services for sale, or a demand for something that the BTC market can supply.  We all see our opportunities grow by sharing in this.  It's not guaranteed prosperity, but it's a welcome alternative to the systems already in place.

I have just started looking at Bitcoins.  I have previously traded SLL (Second Life Lindens) and one of the exchanges has a SLL --- BTC exchange.  I have high hopes and no experience.  I'll post under some other threads on my execution environment in order to increase my number of acceptable posts and gain a promotion out of newbie only status.

Bitcoin address: 166YqQSt4vRiicxH5pxivceCPk6vaoD9Vi

I'm willing to accept a donation, or buy at market price with SLL or USD just to have something in my wallet.

I try to be respectful and informed.

Hi, I'm jo, and I'm totally new to this forum.

I'm also new to bitcoin.  I've read about it a few days, decided I'd like to try it out to see what its about, since I really like the idea that its distributed and open source.  I also love reading, so if there's any sites where I can purchase DRM-free ePub books with bitcoins, I'd like to hear about them.

But I have a question: how can I purchase bitcoins from a US bank account or credit card while I'm currently traveling in Europe?

Thanks!

I have just set up bitcoind and/or bitcoin-qt on a Ubuntu guest running on
btc.vima.austin.tx.us (IPv6)

so if anyone is exploring IPv6, they are welcome to seed me.

Hello,  I'm George and I'm working on a mining pool that will be available on IPv4 AND IPv6!

I'm not sure if any other pools are on IPv6 yet but, I think this would be a BIG help to people
running really large mining operations(Just imagine ALL of your systems having REAL, ROUTABLE IP address instead of that 192.168 NAT crap!).
I'm also an "IPv6 Sage" so if anyone needs help getting on IPv6 I'd be happy to lend assistance!
I'm not sure what the exact address will be yet so I'll hold off on that until it's all setup and running.

I try to be respectful and informed.

I am TehTDK and I am fairly new to the mining scheme of things but have been following the bitcoin fad for a bit. But it is however only recently that I decided to check it out more thoroughly and get in on the swing of things.

Oh and I am an MV enthutiast, just haven't gotten my first vehicle yet.
