Right now you're right, bitcoin has no real competition but in the next coming years things can change and maybe we will see a real bitcoin competitor but honestly I have my doubts that this will happen. I think the only way for bitcoin to be overthrone is by having a bitcoin 2.0 or anything similar but don't forget blockchain makes the bitcoin stronger.

Depends what you regard as a competitor.  Among cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin has no competition.  But Bitcoin has several functions, and some of these are taken up by other things (such as gold).

Well bitcoin has  no competition because until now no one crypto can able to move faster over bitcoin, and as long bitcoin alive i am confident that it will not be beat by other crypto and for me even the enst altcoin ethereum can not beat bitcoin because bitcoin is too strong.

Bitcoin has no competition, not because some crypto can move faster than btc but because bitcoin is dominating the market still.
Almost 50% of market is bitcoin, and 1000+ altcoins what we see right now won't never make it, with years passing on we will see 90% of them just vanish.
Look at past years 2014, 2015 there were so many altcoins in top 20 which you don't see no more at this positions, they are simply forgotten as they don't bring nothing at all to the industry.
Bitcoin will always remain crypto number 1, this is my opinion.

Altcoin to me is just a way to multiply my bitcoins, sometimes all my bitcoins are invested in a few altcoins but in the end i sell all of them for more bitcoins.

Some of the guy is calling Ethereum as a competitor to bitcoin but I also support your opinion that it has no competitors at all. Everyone of those are just nothing comparable to bitcoin it's just similar things.

I am not using any other crypto currency at the moment, but I don't think any of them will ever overtake bitcoin. Its the standard of all, its like money now, do you see money competing with anything else? I really don't see that. So I feel bitcoin will hold it own in the market and would probably keep growing.

Though bitcoin is the pioneer of the all the cryptocurrencies, some of the altcoins can bypass bitcoin price wise. Money is a currency so is bitcoin. Bitcoin is a digital currency. Lets take pounds and dollars for instance, one is heavy than the other in terms of their value so money do compete each other.

You should know about Bitcoin, it's pretty competitive, I do not think they will succeed. They may exist next to Bitcoins and may even be free in nature, but they can not beat Bitcoins unless one can invent something of value and technology that Bitcoin is providing. granted.

As of this moment I really believe that bitcoin is still number one in the system but you can't take away its competitors. We can't deny the fact that bitcoin can be overtook sometime. Honestly I can't really agree that bitcoin has no competition because I know some coins our there operating on their own. Well it would be boring if bitcoin will do its work and there is no  competition. I honestly believe that bitcoin can't be confident despite its strong foundation because other system are there making themselves strong.
