I disagree with people who says that ICO price should be 15% on top of this.

i read recently that this are the publicly-known ICONOMI.performance holdings:

5M GNT: ($126.8k current value) - ($51.3 invested) = $75.5k unrealized profit

4222 GBYTE: ($407.3k current value) - ($0 invested) = $407.3k unrealized profit

Total unrealized profit = $482.8k

Estimated unrealized dividends for ICN holders: ($482.8k)×0.20 = $96.6k

But we need to keep in mind that dividends from ICONOMI.performance aren't distributed to ICN holders unless they sell an asset to exit one of their positions with realized profit.

With this attitude, I highly doubt any investors would trust their funds on your centralized Iconomi platform.

Question: Why would people buy crypto funds from shady Middlemen in Slovenia (Iconomi), while they can skip these middle men and buy identical crypto funds on a decentralized platform like MelonPort or TaaS where everything from trades to performance is transparent, and especially since these other platforms can also hold funds safely in Cold Storage which eliminates DAO-like hacks?


Decentralized is just a fancy word for democratization of a system that ends up being a communistic  system in the end (our modern western system) this is great for you but china existed for 5000 jears untill now. Whithout Segwit miners will soon have a 17 bn dollar gun at your head charging whatever fees they want. And btw what are you going to say to the thousands of noobies of whos transactions is not being realised becouse block size is full? FYI I own both bitcoin and icn.

I don't understand what is the purpose of ICN token and why it was necessary to run a Fund Management Platform. Isn't enough to use Bitcoin and pay dividens to the participants of the project? I may be wrong but in my opinion the real goal of Iconomi project is to get as more Bitcoins as possible and leave investors with useless tokens.

I don't know what that is but it's not Digibyte, it's Digicube. I trust coincap.com more than coinmarketcap.com though, every once in a while these sort of things happen and you are left wondering wtf is wrong with crypto, it definitely feels like a joke sometimes or at least something not that serious. As kalpit said though, the evidence is in the volume, it doesn't matter how much a coin gains...if you don't have liquidity or volume it's not real.

Sigh.  No, no, no.  Let me explain this correctly again.  Go look at coinmarketcap.com - there are only 87M ICN tokens in circulation.  The ICO funds raised did not and have not gone towards either the ownership or the pricing of the separate pot of dev tokens.

Investors put in $10,682,515.42 USD to purchase 85 million ICN at a cost of 10,682,515.42 / 85,000,000 = $0.1257 each.  The ICONOMI team put 15 million additional ICN aside in various pots (founder bonus, bounty, etc) and paid ZERO USD for their ICN.  These 15M ICN had an IMPLIED value of $0.1257 also, but nobody really knew WHAT any ICN was worth on the open market until the token hit Kraken.   The answer turned out to be a steady rise to the $0.4512 USD price listed today on http://coinmarketcap.com representing a 0.4512/0.1257 = 3.6X increase in value of ICN in the past four months since the end of ICO.  

If you look at coinmarketcap.com, they list only 87M ICN in circulation - the investor/donator ICO amunt of 85M plus 2M in released bounties.  The remaining 13M ICN in the hands of developers are locked down for (I think) six months after ICO until platform release.  These dev tokens have yet to be priced.  

Consider the day these extra 13M tokens are unlocked and considered part of the total circulation.  Either the value at Kraken will drop by 15% (because there are suddenly 100/87 = 1.15X more "inflationary" coins in circulation) or, if the value at Kraken holds steady, the market cap at coinmarketcap.com will jump 15%.  It all depends if ICONOMI is seen as strong or week at that time.

PRICE/VALUE OF THE 13M DEV TOKENS IS DECIDED BY KRAKEN TRADERS IN THE FUTURE, NOT BY ICO INVESTORS IN THE PAST.

Bottom line: the launch price of ICN was 0.1257 USD per ICN.

Yes, I did and checked it again. Still, I don't understand why you need to create a new token to run a fund management platform if you have Bitcoin, Ethereum and other coins you can build your platform onto.

Because ICN isn't really a "coin", it's basically a company asset. And the entire point if Iconomi is to make buying "assets" as we know it in the "old economy" easy to approach for everyone. Including dividends and so forth. These days, if a company wants to enter the stock for example, it has to go through shittons of legal stuff and small companies have basically zero chance to get there. With ICN platform, any starting company will be able to announce ICO and get funded via that. Basically a kick-starter, with the difference, that their "coins" will be the "assets" of that particular company, just as ICN are assets of the future Iconomi platform. Dividends will be paid out easily and everything will be nice and public and easily approachable.

So having your own assets in the form of ETH or BTC is basically impossible, since they would have to control all of them.

It's like... yeeeh, this new company is planning to make sofas that will give you a blowjob and have built in fridge for beer! I want to invest in it! And with Iconomi platform, it will be perfectly possible.
