its really popular to be honest, a lot of people i know at least knows something about bitcoins and some of them even use it from time to time

in my country it is not popular at all as adoption here is really slow, people seem to not need any alternatives to their money so they not even try using bitcoins

The fact is people are so used to fiat and credit cards that they don't want to try anything new, and the other fact is they are also not aware about the bitcoins yet.

Scenario will change in future for sure when bitcoin will be used everywhere for buying everything, bitcoin is not too popular at a moment in my country but users are increasing slowly and steadily.

I don't think the scenario will skip the neccasary stages. For example, in my country, we barely started to use credit cards instead of cash. There is still a lot of cash flooting around, almost everyone has quite sum of cash in their pockets. I've seen people use credit cards for almost everyting is US, particularly FL. I think we will have to get into that credit card transaction stage first before exploring other choices like online currencies. Not to mention how bitcoin is an alienated object in 3rd world countries, still.

But people that knows bitcoin in my country are usually in it for the money earning purposes. To use it as a medium for exchange markets, altcoin markets. Not to use it as an actual currency.

I actually don't know much people using bitcoin around me except one cousin of mine who also earns and uses bitcoins like me.

I don't think so because US is a way larger country than mine and as there are already shops accepting bitcoins so they would probably keep increasing but in my country it is not yet well promoted.

We know US is huge country and people are more tech savvy, I am from India but I bet you that Indians are using bitcoin more then Americans as many Americans are still busy in cleaning the shit.

Same situation with you. Although there are actually quite a few people around that recognizes the bitcoin logo.
I can roughly say that 1 out of 2000 people uses bitcoin. Being a social person and of my years in this place, I have met many people who knows about bitcoin but only one that's actually using it.

Due to this anonymous culture you might not be know who is using bitcoin near to you and in my country I know many traders more than 30 whom I know closely using bitcoins and some of room mates using bitcoin and making their life good.

I think it will take more years before it become popular in my country, It is because there few bitcoin enthusiast we had it now in my country. And only few business advertisement who accepted bitcoin too.

yeah that is totally true, majority of the adult in my place don't know how to use computer only few elders are knowledgeable in computer or aware in technology. They will much prefer themselves to other things than to prefer use bitcoin.

I remember last year Starbucks was offering 25 % discount if you pay with bitcoins, and there was video on youtube (probably its still there) how 4 people sitting in the car, driving to Starbucks, ordering coffee, paying with mobile phone and then driving away smiling... that how its done in USA. Rest of us need to wait a lot to be able to do something similar.
My country doesn't know about bitcoins, nobody mention bitcoins in the news or papers. There is few sites that talk about it, but I don't see they are updated regularly, or that someone is going there. I need to wait a lot fot bitcoin to come in my country, well what to do.
