I wouldn't call Zcash a failure. Its price will crash from today's highs but it will eventually stabilize and definitely be among the top 10 coins in the time to come

WRONG! STRAT has been already 6x ICO and still growing. So your opinion doesn't make any sense.

Not forget IOTA!! 

IOTA was a manipulated scam coin that is not even available on exchanges. I wouldn't draw that comparison into well advertised ICO's like this.

Very shortly & simply: Komodo is part of a broader project called SuperNET.

 - Komodo uses Zcash because SuperNET needs anonymity technology, and Zcash is the best tech. Komodo can be thought as SuperNET's infrastructure coin.

 - We developed dPoW so we 1) get better security for Komodo, 2) third party blockchains can use Komodo as an additional security layer, 3) SuperNET can achieve its own vision about independent assetchains.

What is Komodo?

Komodo can be thought as an infrastructure coin that other blockchains and services utilize. Its biggest features are Zcash anonymity and a new delayed Proof of Work (dPoW) consensus method. Thus Komodo will use the best privacy technology (Zcash zero knowledge proofs) while enjoying Bitcoin level security.

What solution does Komodo bring to the cryptocurrencies and blockchain world?

In our bigger roadmap we needed a way to secure weak blockchains, and because of this we developed the dPoW consensus method. With the dPoW any blockchain can notarize its hashes to Komodo blockchain, which in turn notarizes its hashes to Bitcoin blockchain. It can be thought as a two-factor authentication method for blockchains or as an additional security layer.

Any blockchain platform can use Komodo for additional security, and by doing so they will also make Bitcoin more purposeful by “recycling” its hashing power. Thus Komodo will really help the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem.

What are you expecting to achieve with this ICO?

The dPoW implementation requires high capacity Notary Nodes, which will create group signed bitcoin transactions. Those transactions cost money, and part of the ICO funds will be used to make sure those Notary Nodes get properly funded. Eventually the system will become self sustaining, as other blockchain will pay tx fees to Komodo.

With the funding we will make sure our long term vision for crypto is achieved with a bigger team and an accelerating development.

Why people should invest in your ICO?

One of the hottest word in crypto is Zcash and its zero knowledge proofs, which allow extreme anonymity for its users. As the first Zcash fork we will give the same anonymity features to our users. Zcash didn’t offer a traditional ICO for its coin, so Komodo is the best opportunity to jump on this train.

Which are the plans of Komodo for growing in the future?

Komodo plays a key part in the other technologies our team is developing, and is guaranteed to get leverage from them. The other projects we are developing are parallel syncing multicoin wallet, decentralized exchange with atomic swaps, assets with independent blockchains, and so forth.

We will make it as easy as possible for other projects to start using dPoW in order to give additional security for them. Every chain using dPoW will create demand for KMD, and we expect the trend for individual blockchains to only increase in the future. A private blockchain will need security, and for that they will come to us.

assetchains testing found some strange BDB incompatibility I fixed assetchains, but not in the way you would expect

instead of battling against strange DB errors invoked by code that isnt mine, I wanted a clear path to a solution. so I decided to merge assetchains into komodod

i also made komodo-cli understand -ac_name=USD

just build komodod and you get assetchains

./komodod -ac_name=NAMEOFCHAIN

that will make a new chain with a bit more than 10 coins
-ac_supply=1000000 will issue 1 million

I am still debugging the paxdeposit -> issuing via decentralized gateway, but it appears to work well enough (I hope) for multiple nodes to sync

The other benefit is that we can now get zcash protection on fiat as each fiat is now also a zcash fork. And anybody can create a zcash fork from the command line.

Komodo, beside using Zcash technology, is the gateway for delayed-Proof-of-Work that other blockchains will use and also many important Supernet features will be relying on Komodo. So there is a lot more at stake than just Zcash tech and Komodo does have a lot of potential!

Hello there!

We are not really involved with Zcash, although our lead developer jl777 were offering his input in the alpha stage. Komodo is a Zcash fork, that will add its own technology on top of it. Basically the privacy side is exactly the same as in Zcash, including the trusted setup.

Currently we are having our own ICO for the Komodo coin. We will distribute 90M out of 100M coins to the investors.

While there is still time, you guys really need to find some bulldog type sales person with perfect English and aggressive behavior. Nothing against devs in the interview, you tried your best. We all know it. But if that was BU duo, I would expect PTSDs and restless legs syndromes here and there. James, get that school girl voice program up and running, too many eyes are looking up at you at the moment.

Unless it's a privacy/security issue of cause. I would rather prefer you anonymous than find out you are actually an attractive schoolgirl.
