I think the author of the post in question mentioned several scam exchanges, I mentioned one of them. As for Peatio, it is open source software which many crypto exchanges are based on.

I have heard many negative things about this unnamed.exchange and I would never trust them one bit but so far there have been (to my knowledge) no scam accusations against them.

The last time I bothered looking at their exchange I noticed they were using what seems to be Peatio 1.8+ version for their exchange, exactly which crypto they have added and which templates for Peatio they are using I do not know but I do remember them adding many useless and almost worthless coins to their pairs. I was not impressed with website then and I am sure I will not be impressed if I took a look at it now.

It would not surprise me if the exchange was set up with to selective scam first then full scale scam later before closing down with investors losing their funds but right now there is no evidence to support this except the alarm bells that rang during the time several users (including myself) were expressing views of caution on their self-moderated ANN thread.

I must have nodded off - how does "unnamed" relate to the Cryptodisaster of this particular thread?  (and what exactly is a Peatio 1.8+ version for those of us not in the know??)

Excuse me if this has been said several times but i wrote one year ago to liquidation@cryptopia.co.nz asking for infos about how to get a refund (if there was a procedure to follow) and i got no answer till now.. Not being an english native speaker you understand it's very complicate to follow all those updates they released till now. I must have nodded off - how does "unnamed" relate to the Cryptodisaster of this particular thread?  (and what exactly is a Peatio 1.8+ version for those of us not in the know??)

its not Peatio, its based on Assetylene/TradeSatoshi platform (https://www.assetylene.com) that the Cryptopia founder and developer Clark created. They sell that to others who rebrand it (like Peatio) and make their own exchange from it.

A highly secure & scalable white label crypto trading platform
Position yourself at the forefront of the financial revolution by having your very own cryptocurrency digital asset exchange

The founder of defunct cryptocurrency exchange Cryptopia, which entered liquidation following a hack in January 2019, has launched a new exchange called Assetylene.

A new Twitter handle was created for Assetylene in September 2018, having 71 followers on the social media platform. It is also revealed from an early archived copy that it tries to copy another popular exchange, “TradeSatoshi”. However, Clark has clarified that the reason there is a similarity between the two platforms is that he himself used to be a senior developer at TradeSatoshi.

So Clark sells this to TillKoeln, who created Unnamed exchange (thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5169189.0) and they took some of the staff from the Cryptopia and TradeSatoshi exchanges and Clark maybe gives some support or updates for it.   Could be others out there that look more different from the original Assetylene theme and so no one knows they are using it.

Its no secret but they probably keep it quiet because of the "Cryptopia connection" with Clark.

Also not much was revealed about the Cryptopia hack by Cryptopia owners, so cannot recommend using exchange that is made by the same developer Clark until there is proof the hack was not because of exploits or backdoors in a platform he created.

Cryptopia is still one of the few exchange hacks where the owners (and now Grant Thornton the liquidators) kept the details of it a closely guarded secret, its only because of third parties that there exists any evidence in the public that a hack actually happened. But there is still much unknown, there should be a full public posted release of all TxIDs for the stolen coins there is no reason to keep these secret. Once made public, then crypto community could track the stolen funds with a complete dataset, and it would be discovered exactly where the all the stolen coins and tokens had moved to.

Why we just can not log in to unnamed.exchange with cryptopia.co.nz username(email)/password, and trading our crypto-assets there?

Stop talking logically.  Grin
Actually I would believe any exchange, and unnamed.exchange specifically (seems to have similar build), could handle a withdraw on behalf of the liquidators.  We'd pay some of course Wink

And I would like to think that that the cryptopia.co.nz platform can be fired back up and sold.  It had a massive customer base.  There is value there.

...

Do you suppose Assetylene/TradeSatoshi were dry/test runs to see what worked and what didn't work and then they unveil unknown with what they think is the best of both worlds?

Information on how much was owned by the traders of Cryptopia would have had to have been lodged with the courts when they ask for a determination as to whether or not the crypto was customer property or assets of the company.

I'm surprised more people haven't gone to: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust and added

Code:

~TripleHeXXX
~fairlady
~BenTheAnonMod

to their trust lists given there's at least one flag against TripleHeXXX

It seems to be using Peatio open source software as a base, then it is modified but I could be wrong.

The interesting thing here is that nobody is actually saying in detail how the alleged hack at Cryptopia took place. After all this time, with them going in to administration and even with various Court hearing in NZ - we still have no concrete information about what actually happened.

Crypto post-truth: global economical disaster is developing faster then trust of crypto finance ecosystem. Same human psychology scheme to get rich fast, whatever it takes - cheat, steal, scam, make up statistics and fake the numbers rendering form one to another system. Same thousands of years financial power players, shifting to bitcoin, and again rich get richer - poor gets poorer. Meanwhile serial financial criminals runs most blockchains and centralized exchanges rolls volumes not registered on public blockchain for example cryptopia liquidation problem #1 as i see. Shitcoin trade profits of base goes to same pockets from time to time changing "wolfs of crypto" hands. New users mostly leave with useless bags of shit worth 0, latter swaped, delisted, reforked or abandon. Result is that shitcoin algorithms doesn't gain user base and use case like Bitcoin do after 10 years of crypto adoptation and that is shitcoins death spiral, so in future will leave just a few tens max, from till now how much? 10k, 100k alive, or already dead? Ethereum smart hacking contracts, stable coins, crypto platforms, coins backed by (u name it), coins for cause, initial coin offerings and many other crypto tools is instrument to accumulate Your satoshis. Copy-paste crypto culture with dreams selling biz plan is mostly developed by selfish greedy anonymous trolls shooting to its own legs. Lots of fuckups happened, much more will be, just money can't buy love, respect, friends ... Patent WO/2020/060606 just a symptom of seems another ten years of tears, by most human population in a search for financial freedom.

For those outside of the trans Tasman Bubble who may not have heard, effective thirty minutes ago New Zealand in its entirety went into Level Two lock-down due to a Covid-19 cluster in Auckland of four person's, one of whom went to Rotorua over this last week-end.  Auckland has implemented Level three lock-down restrictions and there was panic buying of groceries etc overnight at various Countdown's (presumably Pak and Save / New World etc too) open till midnight/24 hours in certain areas.

Anyone expecting refunds from Cryptopia should pencil in further delays as the lock-down further delays proceedings.

Stay Safe everyone.

Will there ever be any real good news for those that got scammed by Cryptopia? This is a painfully long process for them, it is affecting so many people that lost their funds.

Good news everybody.

GT answering to fellow lawyers CT on what the fuck are you doing with the Cryptopia funds.

Well this will appeal to the whingers here bleating about hiring lawyers and breaking kneecaps but doing sweet fuck all about it. That's right sisquo you got your wet dream come true. What now?
But no one care about this because they are taking good fees and scammers already enjoying with funds they have in pockets feeling very bad for this all but sadly have nothing to do just wait and wait until alive in this stick lock down which is causing more problems for this life.

Its good but main problem is when they are going to pay users their funds as time is running out very quickly and many members have no alternative so they are suffering very badly right now they need some quick compensation from this but here just new orders coming which are not helping in any way.
