Gotta say that's a pretty clever idea, to combine the BTC ledger with an existing blockchain to do like a double fork merger. Has any other project done this before?

There's some really crappy BTC forks with high valuations, so I think we'll see similar valuations but with the added buy pressure on Zclassic. Like the article says, now Zclassic is essentially “Bitcoin Private futures.” It's not inconceivable that if this is successful it kicks off a new trend; maybe a lot of stagnating/dead projects will try to revive themselves by merging with the BTC blockchain for a new start.

Working ZCL Wallet

I can confirm that the version 1.1 wallet at https://github.com/z-classic/zclassic/releases works and looks exactly like the ZEC wallet

You MUST follow the installation directions EXACTLY!

They are included in the wallet download but I will put them here as follows:

Unzip the file to where ever you like. Open "zclassic_winv1.0.5_installer" and run it. ----- Ignore the difference in versions mentioned here. It works JUST THE SAME!
Allow it to run and DO NOT OPEN THE PROGRAM WHEN DONE.

Once installed, place zclassic.conf into C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ZClassic\.
If it asks to overwrite, please do so. If the folder does not exist, then make it.
Then, open the zclassic.conf file with notepad and change the username and password to whatever you like; do not leave it the same.
This file will be daily updated for everyone to ensure the best connections.

Next, navigate to the ZClassic directory (probably C:\Program Files (x86)\ZClassic\).
Open and run ZClassicSwingWalletUI.jar file and the wallet should begin syncing!
It may take a moment to get connections, please be patient.
If you can become a full node, it would be amazing and help us with connectivity and blockchain syncing:
Simply access your router firewall and open port 8133. Preferably, you should also set a static IP for your machine running the wallet.
We need more full nodes to ensure everyone can connect!

Do not send funds until it has fully synced. ------ Does not matter if you have a working key set. Your transaction will be on the block chain and will show up when the wallet syncs up to the transaction time.
Please test the wallet is working with a small transaction before sending all of your funds into it. ----- Always a good idea!
You do not want to send all your funds right away in case it is not working properly...

To close the wallet properly, please use the stop_wallet_cli batch file in C:\Program Files (x86)\ZClassic\

If you do not want to wait for the full blockchain to download, you can download the following zip folder and put the folders into C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ZClassic\ ----- I did not do this so I cannot comment on whether it works or not. I can say that the wallet synced on its own after installation. Again, you do not have to wait for the wallet to sync to 100% to create and give someone a public address for mining or sending you ZCL. Your wallet address works just fine upon first opening and creation of first key.


I would strongly suggest you export your public and private key pair to another file and place that and your wallet.dat file on at least two additional forms of media including other hard drives, cdroms,
 dvdroms, blurayroms, your phone, a flash drive....etc.

I just downloaded the wallet as described above (msg 2822), installed it, and it works fine.
I've sent and received funds from it, to and from Bittrex.

I'm not sure where the version numbers come from as the wallet displays
"ZClassic Swing Wallet UI 0.58 (beta)".......  but it works!

Pessimistic scenario where 1 BTCP will be equal to 100 $ after airdrop. If you have 10 ZCL now , you will have 10 BTCP for free which is equal to 1000 $ . Free money equal to 1000$ not bad.


From neutral point of view i believe 1 BTCP will be equal to something around BTG i.w equal to 250$ , therefore if you have 10 ZCL , you will get 2500 $ for free.

Optimistic scenario 1 BTCP = 500$ . If you hold 10 ZCL thats equal to 5000 $.


I think its a bargain even if your zcl become 0 after the airdrop (which is not going to happen)  , it will be a bargain.  

I chickened out on Ignis / NXT airdrop and lost the opportunity to get 20000 $ . I think opportunities like this will become scarce.

Yeah I bet you are right. I expect min. 5K - max 20K too for having 10ZClassic now. The only problem are with Wallet sync right now but if we can get a statement from Bittrex I think ZClassic would skyrocket at least until airdrop and then stabilize to a low price compensated by Bitcoin Private higher price than BTG (that is a not a good coin).

I find it wrong. Pessimistic scenario could be the only scenario which I'm seeing in the future, and only worse than described. 1 BTCP = ~$75 & 1 ZCL = ~$1, right after the fork.

I'd still probably suggest everyone buying right now to stay away, and those who've already got a lot of profit by now to sell and leave it. A huge dump should be in the cards to play soon.

The price now again started to increase with a fastest speed. I know it will increase much more as right now not much people know that they will also get bitcoin private for zclassic. If they will know then they will also start to buy. I think you have to advertise this news so that more people also get benefit as with one bitcoin they will only get one coin while if they will buy zclassic then they will get much more.

Is there a snapshot date yet?

If the fork happens I think it should be worth at least as much as Bitcoin Gold, my estimate would be 300-500. But is there also a chance that the fork won't happen and that it's an exit scam? I want to buy, but can we know that the people behind are reliable?
