I thought it may, is burst the new thing now? so much easier to build storage farms haha
Soon we will have raid cards on usb risers outside our systems connected to huge storage banks...... ooo wait :p

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Again this is all wasted storage to provide the POW function. I wold feel a lot fuzzier inside if it were being given up to a distributed storage network like StorJ is working on. But the money goes where it must I guess.

What X15 Nvidia 750ti miners are available? Or is it just ccminer?
Checked OP and last several pages but didn't find anything.

Basically anything like that is ccminer only.

This one?

Is there a pre-compiled one for Linux?
Or how to fix this as my device can't run CUDA 6+

Anyone having a go at a ndivia gpu ploter for BURST? They now have one (semi)working for ADM cards, it works for certain models not not all, afaik. Its pretty fast compare to pure cpu plotting.

Could we perhaps gather a bounty for anyone able to get a functional plotter working for 750ti considerable faster than CPUs? Might be hard, as I understand GPU memory is part of the problem.

Does this PoW function of Burst provide security to the chain? IIRC Burst is just a NXT asset (secured by PoS), using HDD plotting purely for distribution. I don't see how this kind of PoW will withstand the sands of time, so I hope our cudadevs aren't wasting time on this ^^

Personally i like the idea being storj, but burst puts me off purely because i cant limit its space usage, which is bad but i could afford 1tb on 1 drive and 1tb on another. Im not willing to put more HDDs in my server because im unsure how profitable it is or if i can limit its usage.

If someone wants to PM me profit wise right now per GB/TB that would be great

Yep, thats my hope, as i intend to buy 2 1 (someone still owes me one as a donation Wink ), plus they will be a dream for gamers as well as they can be SLI'd

well the donation depend on profit. But looking at current GPU mining , its pretty much dead. Not sure if 900 series can change that

what's up? you changed your mind after entering the burst mining, lmao

not really. It's not profitable to mine using GPU now. And by the look of the trend , it feel like its dying off. I mine not because it's easy but because it's profitable. If GPU mining become profitable again , "i will be back"

You can limit it's space usage, you just need to generate smaller plots instead of one massive plot. Profitability wise this might give you an idea: https://bchain.info/BURST/tools/calculator

I offer 5k BURST for an nvidia plotter, however if my order of drives arrive sooner rather than later, I'll up the bounty.

To be fair, I dislike BURST as it is just wasting space instead of being a cloud storage solution and I think it will collapse price-wise pretty soon, but I'm also sure I'll still make ROI and it's safe to say new coins will pop up which will use storage in one way or the other so it's better to have a few drives lying around.

Thanks bathrobe, so from that i just enter the size of the plot i'm willing to allow and it says what i will get per day?
Do i need to factor in anything else?

I have drives sitting around for if it does get better. But i am failing to understand it properly

Hidden

PM else it will get noticed too much especially with an AMD plotter
but if it required 10TB to earn that, its not worth it right now, electric is low yes, but still

RAM and CPU are important, especially when generating your nonces / plots. You can limit CPU threads if you want to do other stuff while plotting.

Oops missed that. I deleted please do likewise. I had the TB laying around so I used it up. I did buy one drive for mining though Tongue

We should really have a nice and tidy closed forum for discussions like this. There are too many lurkers and we've outgrown this single thread for all the different topics we touch.

burst developer is busy with basic function of the coin. What if the basic function is complete and he got free time to make it a cloud storage coin ?

It isn't the messiah, it won't change crap coin into fiat
It won't walk on water... (might work better underwater actually)  Grin
But still it is better to spend btc on that than buying any ipo scam coin
