Too bad the Saffroncoin block reward just fell from 3*72 coins to just 72 coins. Meh.
Time to get the good old cudaminer ready:
UniversityCoin will launch in some minutes.

Code:
(1 / (86400 / (difficulty * 2^32 / hashrate))) * block reward

ok so i tried that, weirdly i get a higher reward value for a higher diff?
so i changed the calc so can anyone tell me if this is right

diff: 178.09747243
rewards: 512
hashrate: 10380000

coins: 600.28406231605

The calculation is correct. If this is groestl (which I assume) this would mean 0.004418158 BTC. However, currently the reward is around 375 coins per block, which means, you only get about 0.0032359555 BTC.

According to my current calculations, nothing is really profitable (KMC looks good, but there are no buyers atm.). I will add more coins tomorrow, maybe there is somewhere a good one. These values are calculated with scrypt: 1300khash, Scrypt:2048: 620khash, groestl: 16000khash, heavy: 61300khash

Code:
LiteCoin: diff: 6049.8598632813 | price: 0.02340007 | profit: 0.00505754
DogeCoin: diff: 758.4340209961 | price: 0.00000111 | profit: 0.00478423
GroestlCoin: diff: 179.7730407715 | price: 0.00000736 | profit: 0.00494150
KimoCoin: diff: 0.2578920126 | price: 0.00000001 | profit: 0.01981262
HeavyCoin: diff: 546.6032714844 | price: 0.00000735 | profit: 0.00830744

why the hell would you mine a pre-mined pow+pos scrypt clone ?
haven't we had enough of these last few weeks ?
another shitty clone with a gimmick reboot.. it's no different than any colors coins..

looks rather optimistic for 31MH/s , I run on it most of the day (say 8 hours to minimize the losses) and got only 2 blocks with 26MH/s (divided by 8 ?)
(or may-be in pool, didn't check if they had any...)

Yeh i was thinking the exact same thing
Thats using the normal reward calc; using the details you can see, all reported directly from the wallet right now

No i dont think so. It uses the same code to check reward for groestl and hvc. I just cant see why its so out

lol, I didn't pay attention to that launch... will see for the relaunch...
(that's the second time in a few day a pool operator start before launch...
I don't understand why they insist in giving the source in advance to the pool, if they know their job compilation is rather straightforward)
I think there is an implicit rule here, if the coin thread has more than 30 pages on launch, then it will fail somehow

I don't think those calculations are valid for "low" hashrate because of fluctuation, a confidence interval would certainly better

Statistical Mumbo-Jumbo Smiley

Fancy way of saying to use the data analysis in a way that is observed that will produce a more reliable estimate. Has to do with the way you sample the data and how much "confidence" you have that the results will match the next sample.  IE the more information or data points you have to look at the better the confidence level will be.

Not sure if that helped at all or not. Smiley

simple example:
say you throw a dice, the probability to find any number is 1/6
However if you throw your dice a finite number of times say 10, you won't find exactly 1/6.
However the result you would find should be within an interval which depends of the number of times you throw the dice.
That's the confidence interval.
The size of the interval will decrease with the number of times you throw your dice.
Actually it is a pretty accurate method to determine if a result is coherent or not (it is a little more than just mumbo-jumbo)
It is a way to reconcile statistics and probability

That makes more sense. I am going to see how many blocks i find in 24 hours then figure out how much it was off. I found a block within 20 minutes, now nothing for around 2 hours. So it will be interesting to see. I have doubts on being able to see them though. Even at 1 satosh
