I had some newbie mining questions related to specifically to Jackpot coin.
1. When solo mining does a better hashrate card increase your chance of solving a block? eg. is a card that hashes at 6Mhs twice as likely to solve a block over a 3Mhs card?
2. Given that the current difficulty rate on Jackpot coin is between 65 and 111 right now.
If a GPU or CPU can't reach the current difficulty level (as displayed on cloudminers) is it best to leave it at a pool since it be impossible to solve the block solo mining because it can't even reach the current difficulty level? (Ignoring electricity costs)
In what way does an older GPU or CPU that doesn't reach the difficulty level actually contribute to the pool in helping it find a block?
Some background info. My earnings have been slowed down over the weekend while at the pools, so last night I decided to switch my two better computers back to solo mining: a 750ti GPU computer & Core2 Quad (CPU mining only). So far I've only found one unaccepted 90k block on the Core2 Quad this morning. Last week I solo mined a small handful of blocks on the 750ti.
Here are my Jackpot coin mining stats while at the cloudminers or miningpoolhub.
I have a 750ti, an older desktop CPU mining , and 2 laptops that can CPU mine.
750ti, 5,140 hashrate, difficulty fluctuates between 512 & 2048, on the windows console 3.1MHs
Core2 Quad 6600 Desktop CPU mining at 433 hashrate, diff between 72 and 128, on win console 368khs
Older core i7 laptop CPU mining at 308 hashrate, diff between 64 & 128, win console 325khs
Older core i5 laptop CPU mining at 120 hashrate, diff around 20, win console 177khs
Thanks!
we have an optimization for jackpot in the works that might almost double the hash rates.
