Guys, don't drop WUs, you're helping research cures for cancer, alzheimer, parkinson, and so on.

stating Folding & Home provides cures for specific diseases is like the CERN in Geneva
is going to help us build an antimatter based space engine for interstellar travel

What the F&H research does is to help us understand how protein folding works in general
and how to build efficient computer models for that. That's basic research, that may someday
be useful in the context of researching new medications.

If one person deletes a work unit, some other person is going to get the same one a short time
after. Also a minimum of two computers will validate each work unit to make sure the results
match.

Christian

You see now i know that folding isnt related to ccminer or cudaminer but if the guys over there could work with christian, maybe they could improve nvidias speed. Personally i would rather earn some money and help find a cure then mine for more money to be greedy

My solution for my issue was to use tye 2 750Ti's it detected properly to fold, then leave the last solomining jackpot coin

Damn. but i guess who cares if we dont use ccminer 100% of the time. Right now this seems ok on profitability and it gives christian a bit of a break to sort out x13 while we sit on that. I dont see it as a bad thing, plus you get the ego boost of how your helping out

unrelated question: how do you solve this kind of things (don't think it is even used in cuda miner)

mpirxx.lib(osdoprnti.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol ___gmp_free_func
1>mpirxx.lib(osdoprnti.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol ___gmp_allocate_func

(trying to compile the xpmminer for nvidia on windows... )

can you send me the project?
its either not including one of the files in the project structure, or maybe not including a lib file?

very true, but if im honest its going to draw in more miners. my dad for example has a 750ti but has never mined. He has had cancer twice, for him, something like this is a valid reason to start mining

also as an update, i started again today with my 2 750Ti's
i was given a 21 hours project, its been around an hour and the project is at 10% and down to 9 hours. so i guess there is a bug in the project ETA timings

Yes, I am "mining" too, highly doubt profitability but we'll see. The great part about it is that you actually EARN MORE if you keep it mining, instead of periodic mining...
Also it's an easier way to get into "mining" as it's all click&go stuff, instead of fancy pool signup, commandline configuration etc etc...

they are not exactly computing hashes here, but a simulation that's called an N-body problem. Forces interacting between all particles. I have little expertise to contribute here.

very true, my pc will sit there for a few days and we will see. jackpot mining isnt great right now so if it makes 0.003BTC a day i wont complain too much

Atleast you got some cards that don't eat power, my single GTX 780 isn't profitable with anything :p

I did 3 WU's in 10 hours for 25k points..... Used more power and generated more heat.... It's a great idea, but with 750's it's not worth it IMO.

Is it , if you found the mistery of protein bounding and a cure for cancer? AH? Is it worth then? May be it is.

0.015BTC / day with one 780 GTX and you call it unprofitable? Ok then just mining for fun or folding for feeling good, nothing in this cryptoworld is profitable now Wink.

Btw, here are the informations for someone who wants to use his 750ti for folding

Figured maybe if they weren't using the 780ti due to energy costs then a couple of 750tis would be more profitable.

Can't blame a guy for trying?  Grin
